      But as I earlier posted:
I managed to take some photos of the same. Can You People Identify what Part is it?There is some slight leakage from this thing which is found inside Left Side Air Scoop.
Check the rounded part see the oil pipe having some leak.
from here(Left Air Scoop) inside that these parts are found
OK, that is SAI or Secondary Air Injection module. It helps to reduce emission. It injects fresh air from Air box to exhaust port, to convert CO to less harmful CO2. A small oil deposition is normal.

      • guys.....my bike is lying with SC for past 3days.....bloody buggers.....they knew that i was going to collect my bike last evening.....knowing this the Service Manager had left the SC...when i caled him to let them know that i will be reaching there he said that he had already left and dint know if there was anyone still at the SC....it would have been a total waste if i had landed up after they had left !!!!....they dont value customers time......when i took thebike for a ride..all the problems were still there....i told the technician about it....he said the pulling is gone and also they had rectified all the problems....but no...i asked him to sit behund me and rode the bike...clearly the bike was pulling to RHS....also rear brake noise and steering noise was still there.....i have given them a time uptill noon today ...if not rectified...ill get full refund.....i dont want thiss A**h**le attitude......

@bala...the bike is awesome by design...but the quality of production of TVS and the Service backup is also bad.....so u decide....

Thanks Revz for sharing ur experience.

Thats really pathetic...TVS should have concentrated more on these problems. Now, I need to look for some other good performance bikes....

@bala - if you have the habit of reading reviews of items you plan to buy, then by now you must know that most review on the net tend to highlight the problems with a product. Now - this is just so that the manufactures take notice and correct it (which does not happen here in India though).

Now, forums like this one, are meant to discuss and help each other with problems - so you will find all and every problem a bike will have.

Coming to my point - you should not come to conclusions about a product from reading posts in a forum.

When things are good, eveyone takes it for granted - and only when problems come do we tend to post it in forums and other places.

I own a RTR 180 for the past two months - and I've been following this post since before I bought the bike - and you know what - i dont face any of the problems being reported here. Maybe I'm a lucky exception - but then which bike is perfect?

Shortlist your choices to two or three according to your own criteria - do test drives from the showroom / friends - come to a conclusion. Buy it - care for it - and it will take care of you.

              All the best buddy...

I was planning to book a RTR 180 Menace tomorrow.
As owners of the RTR 180, do you recommend me buying this bike?
The problems listed are very severe or its quite normal? Is it a VFM to invest in RTR 180.

                Please help me quickly.

                I own a TVS-Victor for 6 years , without any major problem.

                • You are right....lijok & badbikerboy...

The thing is , I'm not seeing much of these complaints in other bikes like that of Honda Unicorn & others.

Are Menacers the most complaining fellows? just kidding....

Someone can share the positive experiences with this bike..for me.

As my previous decision, I going to book this bike tomorrow Can't take my eyes away from it!! and will join your Elite owners group!!

Can anyone tell me which is a better TVS showroom in Bangalore? (service & spares)

I got my Victor from Ramkay-TVS, Adyar, Chennai in 2003. Their service is pretty good and responsive.

Regarding My Bike having "Missing" and "Knocking" issue ,I came to knew that My Fuel-Air Screw was messed at The Dealership(where where I bought,I am servicing at near by service centre).Bike was running lean. Now the Mechanic tighted the screw to the topmost and returned to some specific position.Knocking issue is somewhat resolved.I need to clean the carburetter too may be.

                        • ^^ Clean the carb on a new bik? Better set the AFR mixture screw to about 3 turns out from closed position and see.

Postive aspects of RTR 180, from my experience.
                            1. Great low, mid-range torque (rem, rtr engine is a high rev engine, with no rev limiter n all)
                            2. Awesome cornering stability + stability at high speeds - i felt no problems going at speeds of 120+
                            3. The best braking performance I've experienced - gives you so much confidence
                            4. Nice horn, exhaust note
                            5. Great acceleration - you can hit 100 in no time...

                              @prakashmvpa
the ideal setting is 4.75 turns after tightin the screw fully...
the bike will run like dream...
