go to the washing centre(if you dont have high pressure motor at ur home) put ur bike on the centre stand, switch it on,put it in first gear, the rear wheel will be spinning, and spray the water at the centre of the pads for 5mins...
this will clean all the dust and debris and will eliminate the noice.

    • Clip-on??

Left the bike for service today..
While listing down various problems to the SVC guy,i asked him to adjust the handle-bar(clip-on).Well...he replied that the handle-bar cannot be adjusted anymore and there's no such feature in the bike...We both discussed and were throwing gyaan talks to each other..I said that it can be done but he refused.Soon the SVC centre turned into battleground and whole discussion into a furious verbal fight...
After a few minutes he came up with an L-key and opened both the screws and showed me the handle-bar assembly which neither he or me could understand..According to him there's no place to shift the handlebar in either forth or back position. And he showed it to me too...Now that i have read it in many forums, mags and xbhp itself that clip-on handlebars can be adjusted so it was hard for me to believe and i still think there must be something in it which could be done.Even when i showed it clearly written in the owner's manual he clearly dismissed it and told me to believe in 'PRACTICAL' rather than theory!

I think most of the fellow RTR owners must have done this in their bikes..So i need suggestions on that .A pic showing the assembly would be better..I mean i wish to know how is it done as all of the svc guys here are dumb..
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

        • Hi,
          This is Shoyeb,
Rode my RTR for abt 200-205 KMS (bought it on monday 2nd),
I too have the noise in rear disk thats no biggie i will fix it later ,
But some serious problem is in gear shifting
sometimes when i shift gears (Bike is running smoothly) after some time a loud sound come and its like i am riding in neutral,It happened twice today

NOTE - I didnt took my engine above 5000 RPM (Not even on neutral)

So is it common in all bikes (RTR 180)?

          Thanks guys,
          Waiting for your reply

Every problem seems to be common with RTRs!!!
Anyways it happens sometimes when you don't shift the gears properly..I have been noticing this for long.Mostly it happens when i change to 4th gear.Next time, just use the shifter quickly and with all your force...Work on it and you won't face any problems..I can suggest you only this at the moment till someone else throws some more light into it..

a similar incident happened with me , but he said that if he moves the handle bars any closer , it will hit the tank ...i wasnt desperate abt it so i left it.. anyone who can shed light on this??

              • Handle bars are adjustable. I used to adjust my handle in my home using alen key and spanner..

That is the main adjustment available in RTR.. One inch fourth is for race track(will be little uncomfortable while commuting) and one inch back is for commuters.

Yes, thats false gearing. It happened for me also many times. Now I'm slowly learing the art of gearing in RTR 180. We need to hold the clutch fully and put more force on the lever (but slowly) and engage the gear.

that's FALSE NEUTRAL which comes when the bike comes "IN BETWEEN" the gears...
it mainly arises due to the improper clutch play, shifting gears at wrong RPM,and not tapping the lever with the right amount of needed force.

                                Thanks for correcting me.

Friends, completed 250 km on my Menace 180 (bought the bike 12 days before) . Is it better to change the engine oil now?

It is raining here in Bangalore and my white angel is getting dirt. So, yesterday assembled the rear mud-flap (it spoiled the rear look, but no other go to save the bike from mud).

Today while coming to office, the mud from the front splashed on my shoes and pant bottom. Luckily wearing a dark color pant today. Is there any way to avoid the mud from front...?

Last saturday night , I missed my route from a movie while coming back!. It was night 12:30 am, took all the possible routes in Bangalore (I'm new to the city) and traveled around 30 km in rain at that midnight. Encountered police check once (it was routine , so no problem).

Got into a mad crowd of stray dogs on roads, they are coming and falling in front (Is the Bangalore Corporation sleeping).

Anyway , I had enough confidence on my bike, which took me home safe!.

(Planning to post , "how to avoid or escape from these mad dogs while biking" in another thread, I've enough experience on this, afterall we live in India!).
