hehe... I'll gladly upgrade if a RTR200 or RTR200+ comes... I REALLY REALLY LOVE the cornering abilities of this bike.... last day I smoked a karizma and P200 on a couple of twisties... My heart was in my mouth as I did high speed cornering (read 100kmph+) leaning so much as I've never done before.... ahhh... it was bliss.... Other bikers are oblivious to the fact this is a 180, and more powerful... so their attempt to smoke us as though we were on the 150 goes in vain...Last edited by lijok; 11-13-2009, 12:58 AM.

As I have noticed in my RTR180, its between 6- 8k rpm... you can really feel the bike pulling awayOriginally posted by outworldly maniac View PostGuys sorry to disturb you all .

the real punch starts from 5400 and stays really strong till 9000 (same for 160,FI though in 180 you'll feel little and i mean LITTLE more pull)Originally posted by outworldly maniac View Post

after that it drops considerabley but you'll experience the 'pull' (but not much) till 10700 after that it'll vanish though you can touch 12000 but it's useless to pull the bike at that cuz it nevr shows any pull or power after 10700.The Magician"

Same For RTR160 also. Only thing is 180 & Fi have better low end torque (PULL in renny's words). There's lot to it other than saddle....

Yes, today morning experienced the same. It starts at 6k, when I was trying to drag a Yamaha FZ-16. It is pretty easy to win that bike at above 6k rpm on top gear touching 90kmphOriginally posted by lijok View PostAs I have noticed in my RTR180, its between 6- 8k rpm... you can really feel the bike pulling away

Since my bike RTR 180 is new, I don't want to test the high end (above 8k rpm), I slowed down and kept her at 50 kmph.

Pls put your comments on this ???It would help me to decide my next bike
Hello Friends,
I have analysed RTR 180 for the following plus points but the only sore point is the bent forward seating position which gives back pain for long drives.(Might be some people adjust to it and some do not).
Plus points of RTR180:
1)Best pickup.
2)Cheap spares.
3)Less plastic parts to vibrate and break.
4)VFM bike.
5) Good average of 40-45 surely,if you ride in a sedate manner even more say 45-50k.
6) Rear disc brake so no changing rear brake shoes often and related problems.
7)Fantastic brakes,front ones.
8)Goodies in LCD display.
9) Highest Horsepower per tonne of weight.
10)I would always vouch for TVS quality rather than Bajaj Quality(My perception). On a general the spares are of good quality and build quality is quite good.I own a 6 year old TVS victor GL,so from my experience.
11)Oh how did I forget the amazing handling and flickability of the vehicle.
12) Tubeless tyres surely a boon for those sudden punctures which can be fatal.
Cons:
1) Engine refinement not so smooth as a honda unicorn or a karizma but who cares if you get mindblowing throttle response.!!!
2) Vibrations ,apache owners please comment whether they are acceptable with respect to what we get in terms of power and response.
I got a suggestion from Bike guru, Purchase Apache RTR180, ride it with clip ons if you adjust to it by time no problem. If you donot do the following:
1) Change the T which holds the forks to the old apache 150 T.
2) Change the clipons to a normal handle infact fit a handle which is closest to your body to give you the straight riding position.
3) Change the brake, clutch cables to new longer ones.
All this inluding labour should not cost more than 1500 Rs max.Guys please comment on this why not this be kept as an option? If we change the handle and the T bar why cant the Apache be made into a Light weight Sportscruiser?

Bro , take a test ride , it will answer almost all ur questions , there are a lot of 180 owners in this thread , not even one complained abt clip ons , as for vibes , it depends on how u take it , im fine with vibes and i cruise at speeds whch have most vibes ...Take a test rideOriginally posted by amit_purohit20 View Post1) Engine refinement not so smooth as a honda unicorn or a karizma but who cares if you get mindblowing throttle response.!!!

The riding stance is more friendly than an R15...which itself is not as aggressive as people think it is! Don't think of changing it as it'll ruin the handling of the bike.
Go for it if you don't mind a bit of mid range vibrations. Power delivery& handling are real sweet. All goodies are also there. TVS has given attention to detail&no part of this bike has been left out, even in cosmetic treatment. A great VFM buy IMO.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Vibes are there which gives you a wobbling kind of feel at around 4k-5k rpm. But that is not a problem at all when you cross that speed. I think this issue is too much exagerrated by peopleOriginally posted by amit_purohit20 View PostHello Friends,

. I read that vibrations are a problem with all oversquare engines, read below ,Peugeot 604
The one which makes RTR quite unique from the crowd is, its Riding Position, why you want to change that
!!!. Remember its a Sports Bike.
I don't feel any backpain , but a slight wrist and palm pain in city traffic, due to frequent braking (my perception).
If I were you, I will NOT change the clip-ons to normal ones. It has the following cons,
1.) It will spoil the looks,
2.) The leg position for accessing brake, gear etc., will remain sportive and will not match with the normal handle bar position leading to ergonomic problems.
3.) It may void your bike's warranty and insurance too
.
Now, decide for yourself, all the best
.

,hereby planning to take the bike
.I will have to buy a diesel car for that kind of running which would be an expensive affair. Moreover my 95% running will be on Highway,so i need a bike that can cruise comfortably at speeds of 80-90km/hr.

Helical gears are less noisier in operation than spur gear ,because the gear tooth in case of helical do not come in contact(thanks to the tooth profile) at one go unlike in spur gear.In helical gears the tooths are inclined at an angle called as the Helix angle, wheras spur the tooth is straight cut.The disadvantage of helical gear is its to expensive to manufacture.Originally posted by bala_racing View PostOh, is it?. But in Apache it is all helical (users' manual specification page)
Can anybody tell what is the advantage of spur gears in constant mesh?
Hi, we're not Off the topic. It is a good forum to understand our own bikes better
