Well...I complained once at TVS about the loose Fuel tank...
Yes It is somewhat loose then in other bikes...

If you take out your seat you will notice it why...

The fuel tank is fastened on a single BIG Bolt to the chassis inside..

Thats the reason that it seems that it is loose...thats obvious to Apache...

I may be wrong but that was what the mechanic told me and ya really knew very very much about the bike..
Guys THATS TVS at my City...
    ny1 still questions TVS Service..???

no problems at all!! get it changed under warranty from SC, and if the try to say that there is no problem becuz of that then tell them that you would directly go to the area manager and ask him to get changed the alloys in front of him ... this is the similar issue by which i got changed my rear alloy...

However, there are couple of things that I would like to clarify from 180 owners --

              1. Is the fuel tank loose in all the 180s? As this was the case with that bike and I was told that it is loose in all the bikes! I irritatingly replied that "tvs ki bikes mein fuel tank loose hota hai shaayad!!"...this was for that stupid ass mechanic!

              2. Are NVH levels really so high? 'cause it has really put us off. This wasn't the case with 160 when we first rode it. If this is the case, then this will cause good discomfort even in small rides.

              1. yes. The fuel tank is a bit loose in my 180 too.

              2. My bike has done 1200kms and the vibration has reduced a lot. I experience vibrations only in the speed of 60-70 kms/hr its around 4.5k-5.5krpm

Good pic bro and nice lid you got there, but isn't it unsafe riding without rear view mirrors?

                  • No Rust Problems as of yet.I guess ,the coastal region will make rusting faster on most vehicles.

i'm talking about a brake fade like i mentioned and reported when i was driving at constant 90-110kmph, was taking leans and braking in between them, and the course of road that was almost resembled as a track....

that whole driving and braking thing was goin on for good 8-10kms and after that the disc got numb, i braked and accelerated so much at that time that the front was showing the signs of fading too....

this is quite normal, in this series of twists and turns cuz when i found a 2km straight stretch i maintained 110-125 with givin a single tap to both the brakes and they cooled off in the process making them back to their normal ferocious biting again..

the tyres are good (TVS) in dry and when you're puttring around the city and going straight...

try putting your knee down, try accelerating hard out of a corner, try hard front braking while entering a turn, and TRY just turning on a wet tarmac using them and you wont say what you just said in the bolds....

                            vibrations-5300-6400+-200
smoothness (and i mean butter):0-5000 and then from 7000-8600+
                            200..

noice- it's simply gives you a eargasm.

harshness- the engine sounds rough not harsh, there's a thin line of diff between the two....
                            Hey thanks man .

And I have the same observation like you on NVH.
The bike was surprisingly smooth which I never thought of RTR .

And the noise was the best I ever heard on a bike .

Harshness i dont know much .
Hope is a good thing ,

That's pretty bad rust issue you got in your bike.Did you by any chance ride the bike besides the sea beach because the salty water has to be the culprit.

It's unlikely that you will get replacements under warranty as it's not a known/common issue among the 180s!!

                              • Had a small accident on my 180 today... a drunk man jumped across a car I was overtaking... dunno if front or rear skidded... but i fell down with the bike... minor bruises on the knee and elbow and shoulder... all left side... My bike.... the saddest part.. scratch on the headlight dome, indicator.. handlebar weight... bend crash guard and saree guard... The scraches are pretty bad... looks major... I was wondering how much it will cost to replace all the scrached parts... any estimates friends?
