    • My little beast

Hi all I own a RTR 180 Perl White from last one month.
I ride it about 50 Kms daily from home to office.
Here are my experiences with the bike
      The Goods:
      1. Awesome power delivery, throttle is really responsive.
      2. Killer looks (my perception)
      3. Rear disk.
      4. Ear pleasing engine notes.
      5. Led back light.
      6. Mileage 40kmpl.
      7. Maneuverability (Awesome handling in traffic )
      8. Awesome riding posture.
      9. People noticing my ride in every signal I stopped, even from cars windows and if possible asking me about the price and mileage.
      10. Sporty rear fender.
      The not so Goods:
      1.
      2. Rear disk noise : it is vanishing after every wash and coming as soon as possible
      3.
      4.
      The bad:
      1.
Over all am very satisfied with the bike need some good rubber though.

          10. Sporty rear fender.
          The not so Goods:
          1. Service stations : After first servicing chain starting to make noise as it is touching somewhere (not sure loose or tight) the mechanic says it is nothing, ride it for two days and then come back if problem still exist. But the sound seems to be broken out when I am with a pillion. By the way I never got chance to take it to service station (time crunch) They don’t seemed to understand that if the bike don’t have this noise in new condition so why it is there now.
          2. Rear disk noise : it is vanishing after every wash and coming as soon as possible
          3. There is a “Thud” sound from the front of the bike when it is into a pothole >30 km speed.
          4. Vibrations 4500 rpm – 6500 rpm range. (Not much of problem for me as I am used to it now )
          The bad:
          1. Big disks with not so good Tyres: I have one or two skids with panic breaking, never fell off though because of low speed (40kms/h) and bike’s maneuverability, light weight. According to my experience, don’t even try over 50 kms/h in wet road. Even with small bite in brake skidding is guaranteed.
Over all am very satisfied with the bike need some good rubber though.

Hi abt ur sound i think it is because of the main stand
For confirmation pls look at the right side whether exhaust (silencer) stops your stand to come in contact with chain....

BTW i had this problem too got it done within 15 mins from svc

I am also thinking to change my tyres but still waiting for my pocket money

As per TVS Dealer Here ,TVS Has already informed TVS ASC's about the Issue with Few Batches of Apache RTR180 with Front Fork having slightly less amount of Fork Oil+ a change to a Bigger Bush(Connected to fork piston) .For ME - I have to Go Till to TVS Regional Head to Resolve this Issue.
My Advice for Future RTR 180 Owners - Take the Test Ride and If Found Front Disk Travels too Much and Makes "Thud" Noise ,It is NOT a issue of Cone Set(Steering Cone) ,But Due to the above issue I explained(Bold Part).Hope it Helps.

Thanks for the info. But I can’t see anything like that; let’s check with the service guys.

Good to hear that pocket money is sufficient enough to change a set of tubeless tyres.

Try Mortien Rat kill. But take care the mouse didn't die within the bike

                  • Hi all
i've recently purchased rtr 180. It's really an amazing ride. I'm 5'7 and the big problem I face is the height of the seat. The bike overall suits me like anything. Only the inseam doesn't seem to fit in. Can you guys tell me if there is any hack to adjust the height without loosing the look?
To be noted that the shock absorbers are already adjusted to the lowest height possible.
Another minor thing is the gear shift. It is not smooth and it goes to neutral very often. Lastly the rear disc. I've to really press it hard to getsome reasonable braking not that brake itself is loose. Will it be fine and safe if I ask the service guy to make em more tight cuz I don't want to use the front disc and solely depend on the rare cuz you know why!

                    Thanks all!

And most people around think that RTR is a puny & tiny bike with a very low height. I believe you should try the bike for some more days before you decide to do something to the height. You might get adjusted to it.

I am 5'8" and I find my brother's RTR 160 to be of perfect height with both my feet touching ground. In fact it is the same with most other bikes - the R15, ZMA, P200& P220. Add to that the RTR180 is on 17" wheels. Not sure whether it is lower than the RTR 160 or not but I didn't feel it to be different from the 160 when I rode it.

Another minor thing is the gear shift. It is not smooth and it goes to neutral very often.
Let the engine run in. It will settle for the better. As such, you cannot expect a Honda/Suzuki like gear shift on the RTR.

Lastly the rear disc. I've to really press it hard to getsome reasonable braking not that brake itself is loose. Will it be fine and safe if I ask the service guy to make em more tight cuz I don't want to use the front disc and solely depend on the rare cuz you know why!
                      I really dunno why???
Not trying to pull your leg there... but seriously!

First thing - you cannot adjust the disc brakes like you adjust the drum.

Second thing - you are not supposed to use the rear brake for stopping power. You HAVE to use the front. The rear brake pads are made softer on purpose so that they don't lock the wheel - which is the reason for most falls. The rear brake exists only to aid the front brakes in stopping the bike. Learn to use the front brake and practice not to slam the rear brakes at that time.

Bro! I am 5'4". and have no issues on height. Only thing is i need to take little more efforts for burnout.
There's lot to it other than saddle....

                        • Rtr 200

                          hi folks

I got news about apache rtr 200...My dealer has contacts with tvs engineers....he was telling that rtr160 with 200cc engine fitted brought to ARAI(Automotive Research Assosiation of India) pune for testing and certification...He was telling that he dont know about the design and all but engine firing is much smoother and Vrrroooom Vrroooom type like FI versions and having much power than 180......he also added thet it may be introduced in 3-4 months since competition is rising....so hold ur breath

                            Interesting News..

Well Guys...Having a Big Problem and need a remedy ASAP...!

                            My Front Wheel is Leaking..!!
I Thought It was Punctured But.......It is not in the sense...

I Mean that the 1/4 th rubber side lining where the rubber meets down with the alloy rim(Rubber:Rim Sealing), the air is leaking in very small amount...
The mechanic took the tyre pressure to 45 to find out that leakage..
Guys help me what to do..he suggested there is some coating like thing which can be done inside the tyre at sidings to fill that small gap(Seal it in other words)...well dont know possible with tubeless...(Dont curse me..for that...!)

                            OR...
I've a better Idea...As My Bike has only finished a month or two..I might get it replaced if it is possible(Is IT...???)....

I "think" most of you have not got the place where i told the leak is..
If it is so..I may update with a photograph to illustrate it..

Please..looking for a fast reply to my problem..
"I hate people moving fast....so I overtake them.."

                            • ^^Seems like a case of bent rim. You can make an insurance claim for the alloy rim.
