    1. start up problem...( today i had a hard time starting the bike early in the morning , it took several attempts to start the bike )

    2. Jerks even after the bike runs for about half an hour

    3. if we just throtel the bike i can feell that the acceralation is not smooth.........

Dont know what to do .... the svc guys were not able to fix the problem ... even after complaning several times ....

Do u guys know any good machenic in banglore who can check the :

    1. spark plug
    2. Carborator
    3. Air filter
    4. Air and Fuel mixture
    5. Timing in the engine
    6. Comburtion Rate ...........

    Plz help
chk 4 the idling rpm..if it is 1k or below that....thn make it 1.3k...
apart from that u can urself clean the spark plug...try these two out by urself...if still u have problems..then go for a mechanic...

all ur above problems are related 2 improper combustion...so it may be ur AFR is not right...or ur spark plug and carb needs 2 be cleaned up...

    do the basic checks first...
Nothing feels better than to gear up and burn some rubber ! ! !

Time to open up the carburettor and clean the individual jets using air-pressure.Get hold of some senior technician at the TVS svc and get the work done from him. Also do check the spark plugs and check the clearance. Also do ask him to check the valve timing.

KMS covered whn i gave for the 1st service - 615 kms.

              SERVICE CENTRE exprience -

the major problem u face here in chennai - language, so while i was communicating wid the SVC mechanic in English, i could sense he hardly is getting me...so i had 2 slow down, use some sign language and breakup english i.e speak the sentence in parts..he he...newazz i had not much of trobule till now TOUCHWOOD ! ! !...so just said him 2 go for the regular service...as per the manual...

ENgine Oil - TVS TRUE 4. No idea how it is..had plans 4 MOBIL or MOTUL....but then stuck 2 it as i thnk that is what TVS recommends(correct me if i am wrong)...newazz as it was my 1st service so stuck 2 it...will be gng 4 a MOTUL or MOBIL during te 2nd service 4 sure..

one major doubt i have is the SVC guys didnt charge me for CHAIN LUBE...i dont know why...its a O'RING and its prelubed same as that one used in a FZ....but in case of my frnds FZ the SVC guys charged him for the chain lubrication during his 1st service. so guys do the chain needs 2 be lubed by a dedicated chain lube for O'RING chain during the 1st service???

whn my bike came out after 1st service..i asked the SVC guy if he had lubed the chain...and he said yes...i chkd it out..and it was lyk cleaned and greased from outside as its been done in any other closed chain bike...so i am still puzzled about the chain lubrication....its duration in KMS for re-lubricating???...and the brand of chain lube??

rest of the service was carried out as per the manual. they gave me a feedback form too....and i wonder if it goes 2 the dustbin or they actually go thru each of it ! ! !

Another concern is the running in period...manual says MAX SPEED 50km/hr and i wonder how it doesnt mention the RPM???...which is really crucial...

newazz my concern is i have been riding most of the times in betwn 4k-5k rpm after i crossed 300kms...and speed is in between 55-60km/hr...yesterday went for a 84km/hr and had rode in between 70 -75km/hr for about 20- 25 mins...i wonder if its really gonna affect the perfomance on the long run...esp smoothness and mileage.
Guys just a reminder abt my QUERIES....please do give ur feedback...

              • guys can anyone tell me how to adjust the air fuel mixture screw the no of turns needed for best pick up and mileage..

                • @Pritish: Nothing wrong in thaking the bike past the recommended speed for a short duration. it wouldn't affect the bike in anyway on the long run. They dont charge anything for the Chain lub cause it's hardly any amount for it to be charged extra. The 50 Kmph means it should be done in the final gear, earlier they used to mention it but nowadys they dont i think they feel it's understood that it's in the final gear....

@Santhosh: It takes a lot of experience and little bit of skill in tuning bikes, u really gotta know the Engine's beat well in order to do all that. Anyways FYI, The idling screw is just to adjust the throtle opening to incerease or decrease the rpm of the bike. The no of turns for the Fuel Inlet Screw varies from bike to bike, the service guys will know it. Old timers purley rely on the Engine's beat rather than the no of turns and all. Service guys sometimes do a lousy job in tuning and your bike stalls in every signal as a result of that. After my second service i had to tune it myself in order to keep it from stalling.....

i didnt mean that...what i meant was u can still rev past 4k for the 1st 500kms...at lower gears and keep it below 50km/hr...so mentioning the RPM limits sends a clear message 2 the riders ! ! !....

my concern is abt the O'RING chain lube..i.e does it need 2 be lubed from tym 2 tym and if so how??...i am not at all concerned abt the external lube of the chain...

may be the carburetor was starved when ur bike's speed came down to 15kmph.

its normal. nothing has happened. give ur bike some rest. how many kms on the odometer ? get ur carburetor cleaned or learn to clean it without messing up the tuned adjustments.. check if ur air filter is clogged. it means use dieseld to clean the spongy material.. would help..

carburetor tuning is not easy.. its merely by intense practice and knowing how much more to provide to the carb.listening to the sound and dozens and dozens of practice runs....even the most best tuners stumble at times to find the best configuration...
recommended to learn the procedure online, by browsing for it. because it is vast area to cover.

better consult a really good mechanic regarding this and learn from him ....

Once should avoid tuning by self as far as possible unless one really knows how to deal with it.
