    Hi,

Even I am also getting the same problem. My Apache runs around 5600 kms in 6 months. From starting its giving the same problem. Its not accelerating smoothly, not breathing properly. Performance is very less.180 behaves like 160.Its jerking even after running 1 hr.I went to Meghdooth service, Bangalore. They cleaned the air filter, Carburettor, spark plug.Checked everthing like spark plug cable, spargplug gap and retuned the bike. For next 50 kms nothing has happened. But, after 50 kms it started giving the same problem. I put Motul semi-synthetic 15W50 engine oil.So, Kindly suggest me to resolve this issue.

    Thanks
    Dinesh

First check the small and high jet in the carb, the correct setting of the carb.

Dude, I think the engine oil rating is 20W40 for 180 also , Stick to the company recommended oil grade. Might be the problem due to this also. Do check the spark plug condition.

Then why FIERO makes the same noise?
            It has no self start.

In my earlier post i said valves and cams cuz when i used to hear that noise, it always used to come from there only.

Nops, dude. The engine oil grade is in no way related to the hiccups. Possible reasons for Hiccups:
              -Improper Ignition/Timing
              -Lean setting in carb
              -Spark plug/cable condition
              -Dirt in carb

The solution is opening up the carb completely and checking individual jets and cleaning them by using air pressure. But then the most important thing is the tuning which takes an extremely experienced person to fiddle with.Even my bike was having the issue initially.During the 2nd service, the senior technician after cleaning the carb tuned in a way which i haven't seen before. He tried different AFR settings and then was revving the bike to 12k rpm to check any presence of detonation/knocking at high rpms.

even i have the same problems, i took the bike to the svc and they cleaned the carb but still no difference. can it be due to tappets? as my bike has run around 7000 kms but not once has its tappet clearance been adjusted.

                          • Hey guys I bought my RTR 180 last week 17th feb and ODO is now at 200 kms

                            I have two problems

1.I feel wobbling in the rear Wheel sometimes.

2.The rear disc squeaks when i apply brakes hard..

My first service is on 17th March

                            I have some doubts too

                            1. My friends apache 180 has now crossed 2000 kms mark and he has to travel 80 Kms everyday.the road he uses is usually empty so he rips the engine at 8~9.5 k rpm for 20 mins or so..will it damage the engine??

Regarding wobling, report it to SVC. disc squeaks? neglect that till 1000kms. it will vanish.
And regarding your friend, RTR is meant to be redlined on every ride. I ride near to redline twice a week for 30 min. it covered 14k till now. no issues.
