Normally i conclude about the performance of a newly filled engine oil after having ridden for more than 200kms. Initial Experience with the oil has been somewhat not satisfactory.The bike is lacking in the performance/pickup.But it still revs as freely as the Motul.Just that the lack of grunt is apparant.

Will update about the performance over this weekend.

-The bike fell off the side-stand just because of this faulty neutral.Dent on the flanks!

Above all this when I ask SVC people to not to put that shitty TRU4.A$$h()l#s say it'd void the warranty.A few more questions and same old answers..
*Foot pegs change-No,it'd void the warranty
*Switch to HID lamps-No,it'd again void the warranty.
*Change the stock tires-No,this sure will void the warranty.
*K&N filter:...Uhmmm,aahmmm ...ehhhh! I don't know what it is but going through your above questions I am sure it'd void the warranty!

Then why not you guys take the bike till it gets over with this Warranty period...

PS: Excuse the language please...

That's quite a long list of problems.

Except for the K&N Filter nothing else will void the warranty.SVC people need to be punished for this.Shoot a mail to the concerned personnel in the Servicing Dept-North of TVS.That is the only solution.And about the Rusts every part affected has to be replaced by TVS no matter what.

Ther is guy also has some problems in RTR Fi and gave a mail to TVS directly and got the problem cleared from direct from the tvs his username starts like ToRque

i'm facing rust issues on the silencer only that too from the part which comes out from the head, other than that, paint peeling from the front sprocket cover and whitish alloys.

tappet noice is normal but if it's too loud make them adjusted in front of you that too by little margin, but a SC guy wont do it, he'll tell you that they're completely fine, but in fact they need to get adjusted in MM's, if you have a mech friend get them adjusted by him.

Check both the jets at the carb, and the air filter.

Oil change details

Guys post the log of the oil changes you have done in your RTR180 along with the kms, oil type and make.

LIKE:
(Mine is FI though

)

1- at 430 kms (CASTROL POWER 1 )
2- at 1065 kms (CASTROL POWER 1 )
3- at 2960 kms (CASTROL POWER 1 )
4- at 5018 kms (CASTROL POWER 1 )
5- at 7080 kms (YAMALUBE MINERAL )

the shopkeeper is right..coz shell is one of the best brands in the world...
after all it is bng used by DUCATI in motogp...it will be costlier than veedol i guess...but its worth the premium u pay..

Grip on wet roads is really pathetic, even i had some scary moments but no serious damage though..... They got to do something about it or atleast have to go in for a MRF Tyre if they aren't good in tyres since they r gambling with the life of the person who is riding it.....

I think TVS oils are recommended till free services and they r just forcing you for their comission on sales..(u shouldnt mind TVS oil is OK and check that they take a seal packed bottle of oil coz SVC guys can even put inferior oil if you are not present at the time of service)
And about Hid you shouldnt go for it .(Coz its banned all over country.)
K&N filters should not be problem ..(It definately wont void warranty..BTW local mech hate filters coz according to dem it messes up ur engine ..I dont think so..And its banned too..)
But you can fix stock replacement filters they are legal , and silent...

Tyres can be changed .But it should be of same profile as stock ones ..(Rear 80/110 and front - I forgot)

And about footpegs.Change it to RTRs only.... maybe he thought that you wanted some R15ish pegs(Not offending any R15 owners)..

Forget R15 pegs those guys don't even know about their own RTR properly.I don't know if they have ever heard of Race track or motorsport.They are more good and loving to Star Sports and two-stroke XLs.RTR seems to be a step child in between.To them RTR is only a 180 cee-cee BIG BIKE.Clip-on they don't know..Gear lever position they don't understand.And know the worst now..Today while leaving the bike for service one guy while inspecting all the things said,''The exhaust note is different from the stock,did you fiddled with it?''...Numb skull didn't know there's wall behind which jammed the flow and hence the furrrrrrrrr-furrrrrr sound!
You know what, I learn things here and when i quote the same to those guys they make ugly faces and their rubbish explanations...

Does that include the Disc too.I had the whole thing checked by Service head here..He said he'll see what'd be possible in that case.I am now leaving to take the bike..Will brief you on that later..

One more news to spice up things, the R15 footpegs costs Rs.63 each..But the interesting part is Feelers cost a whopping Rs.248 each

500 km - TVS True4
2000 Km - Castrol
5500km - Veedol Super Swift 20w40(will get it tomorrow - following chicanes advice)

Just got to the contact us section at tvsmotor.in and send them a 'service support' message telling them about your complaints. Thats how i got my front fork noise rectified when the ignorant svc guys told me that its common in every RTR 180. Hope this helps.

Engine oil

Just dont with the 3rd service ......

Had to go through the bike service 2 times.... once through svc and the 2nd time thorugh our local machenic bcoz svc guys only washed the bike applied polish and changed the engine oil,(no idea which oil they used ) the bill reads that they have used tvs true4....

local mechanic serviced the bike in front of me ...
took the service coupon along with me and asked him to do every thing which is printed behind the service coupon .....
changed the engin oil again and i am using Shell Advance Fast Trac 4T now.......

The bike is very very smooth now ...............
