I was not left with many options.. By the way you were about to change your tyres if i'm not wrong? Which one did u decide upon?
you should have waited for BETTER feedback. Never mind, don't try to push the bike to its limits with this one. I am planning to change the tyres after all my free services get over just to avail them and also to avail warranty till that period. Although I have shortlisted a few, I will go on for serious hunting only then. Till then, I will commute with remora. Trust me, ABS prevents skidding of the front wheel when I brake hard on sandy surfaces in slow moving traffic. And also prevents skidding and hitting the vehicle before :P But this will last long and has lesser affinity to punctures.

Since you already had rtr, I will suggest against gixxer.
Go for AS200 if you have budget problems or else RS200.
Don't go for gixxer, once you ride a ns/as/rs you will feel bored on less capable bikes

Has anybody used motul 5100 in their 180 ? How good us it ?. On the net everyone gives it 5/5 stars. How does it cope with our apaches ? What is the drain interval ?

I had used 5100 some time back but found the 7100 to be a better performer. 5100 looses its charm soon if you tend to use the RTR on highways. For that price Shell AX7 would be my pick.

Thank You. How long did both the 5100 &7100 last ? Did you need topups in between ?

Hey guys!

Newbie here...Booked RTR 180 matte black edition today... cant wait to get my hands on it..

I have a question..Few of my friends say that finding panels (only the visor, fenders and such (hopefully shouldn't need them, but still...), not engine related parts) for the RTR matte black would be difficult as the bike is not easily available. Is it true? Or should I go for the white one?

I really loved the matte black color though..Any suggestions?

Go for the colour which you like the most.. Panels of whichever colour you need can be ordered at the svc and you'll get it within 2 working days.. Unless they already have it in stock

Mr_Many_Places 90-95 percent of my riding is on highways & hills, so be it any oil I drain it around 2000km. Didn't need any top up for 5100/7100. I have tried different oils, last time I topped up was when I used the Castrol power racing (synthetic) & Motul 300v.. Congratulations apachefan welcome to the tribe. One thing that I can say about TVS is that the parts are readily available, so go for the colour of your choice & enjoy your ride.

Guys! Help! Sometimes when i shift to 3rd and accelerate, the gear falls down to 2nd by itself.. I showed it to a local mechanic he told me to replace the shaft to which the gear shifter is connected.
Now, should i get it replaced from him or should i give it to the SVC for replacement??

If you ride is under warranty period get it replaced at the svc. Its a safer bet. If your warranty has expired then also do try to find the cost of the shaft at the svc. If the change in price is nominal then go for the svc. You will have a peace of mind.

Thank you. The tvs oil in my bike usually lasts around 1700-1900 kms as i only ride in the city with an occasional highway ride of 70kms. So i guess 5100 will last around 3000-3500 kms for me then. But the ax7 seems to be a safer bet. Its cheaper & you will change the oil much earlier so engine's gonna run better. Any online stores to buy ax7 ? I do not get this oil here in bhubaneswar.

My warranty has expired! I'll buy the spare from TVS and get it changed from a local mech!
Thanks!
