How many months/years old is your bike? Yes, the extended warranty should cover this.

I was due for the service today, and i have given the bike to PRABHA TVS, CHENNAI, SVC and reported the problem, i got a call after 2 hours, from the mechanic stating that the tail lamp got fused and it needs to be changed, as the mechanic has checked the wiring. He said the amount is rs 1300, but i refused to change. i am not sure how the tail lamp would have got fused when it works with the front brake and not with rear brake.
Check the rear brake switch. It will need adjustment or replacement. Just cost 20 - 30 bucks.

The rear brake lever is connected to a switch through a spring. There are three possibilities, the spring has lost its tension or the switch has gone bust or the spring is not in contact with the switch/lever.
Just open the battery cover & look behind the footpeg you should find the spring and switch. Pull the switch down wards it should light the brake lights else the switch is gone, if it lights up, the spring in not connected at two ends or spring has lost its tension.

This is called day light robbery.... Either they are trying to milk you, or they are that dumb(which is impossible). Anyways, tell them to change it UNDER WARRANTY, or else report at TVS website. Would be good, if you get your TVS Area manager's no.

Oh no buddy I asure you those svc guys can be dumber than you think.
Check the rear brake switch which is near the brake pedal (same position for disk and drum) if its shot the rear brake will not activate the brake light.

A few initial thoughts after 200kms on my ABS -

              1) The issue with the tyres are either overrated or the new Remora's are a real improvement. The grip and stability on the road is Amazing! It feels so planted and taking corners and sweepers seem to be the bikes Forte. Amazing confidence. The way the bike bends and the tyres grip the road is top class.
on the same note, the balance spread is amazing on the new beasts.
              2) What is the suspension setting that would serve best for mostly bad roads/city roads? I am currently on setting 3.
              3) The gear box has smoothed out compared to the earlier hard shift issues I had, but it feels smoother when the bike is in the first 2 kms compared to later on, thus I feel its an issue with the Engine oil that comes stock with the bike. The dealer didnt know much but he mentioned its not Semi Synth but is Fully Synth TVS Oil. Maybe the higher temperature setting is bad. TVS needs to fix this.
              4) Mileage isn't bad either. Getting 40-45 but again yet to hit first service.

Overall, its such a relaxing feel to drive this bike, it seems to force me to always rev up , but I am resisting given its in Run-In. Sweet ride

Are you talking about in dry conditions. Well the older TVS tires are also good in dry conditions. Its the wet conditions I felt its loosing points.
Provide a feedback after using in wet conditions. My front tires have to be changed in few months time. So if the current tires are really good, then its worth a try.

Well mine is Hyperedge version & I believe the setting is 2(middle). I haven't changed it. Its the stock setting, thats the best setting. Better dont change it as it might effect the ride quality/feel.

Nowadays the newer bikes comes with fully synthetic 10w30 grade oil. In my days it was same grade, but mineral oil. Anyway currently Im using the FS oil just to check out. Its drain period is 5k km, though I dont think I will run till that point. Normally I use Shell AX7 Semi synthetic 10w40 grade. As u mentioned I too felt why TVS is still sticking with xw30 grade which is not good in high temperature situation.

Dude!! Thats great mileage, but make sure you are not running lean as its not good for engine. Well Im getting 40kmpl in bangalore with kind of heavy traffic condition. Also even if traffic is less I dont drive that sedately. But I know for a 160, Im getting low mileage. Anyway not bothering much on that.

Hold your nerves buddy. Even after 1k run-in period, dont just go WOT. You can do the same after couple of services.

Had been to the ASC with a heavy heart for servicing my beast, when i told the guy that oil change is not required since it was done a week ago, the look on the guy's face was not to be missed, it felt as if i had asked him to donate me his kidney. He just wasnt ready to believe me, tried all possible means through which i develop self doubt and get convinced with what he says. The best part is the way he conveyed my decision to the other mechs. Finally i had to tell him sternly to stop wasting his and my time and move on..these guys are trained to make profits it seems.

Guys, any reviews on the new TVS oil ? i would be doing a 1500kms trip next month and due for an oil change, so thought to give the TVS oil a try . Currently running valvoline which emits quite a bit of heat on riding at 100-110 kmph constantly for over 100kms.

I am not at all satisfied with whatever the grade and type they are using on new bikes that comes as Stock. Its so bad that when it heats the gear shifts become real hard.

I found Shell AX7 and Motul Semi Synthetic far better than TVS oil.
But I have done trips on TVS oil too, it depends if the trip involves too much exertion on engine or not.

                          Hi guys !!
I realised one thing today that driving at 55km/hr in moving traffic (city) is much more fun than at 70sss in our apaches . Long live the beast

What's the grade of motul semi synth you used? W40?
And if you had to choose between shell ax7 and motul semi synth, purely based on performance of the oil then which would you go for?

                              Motul 5100 15w50 costs around 450INR.
If price is not an issue I would always go for Motul semi synthetic.
