I am planning to change my rear tyre (lasted for 30k) for my apache rtr 160 as i have 5 punchers in my bike.
Looking for tyres with good grip and life of 25-30k. My budget is around 2.5-3k

    I have shortlisted few tyres
    1) zapper c 110/80
    2) Michellin sirac 120/80
    3) MoGrip Meteor 120/80

can anyone suggest which tyre to prefer among these. Does upsizing the rear stock tyre cause any issues with gearing ratios etc, please guide.
Suggest any other tyres which are good for apache rtr.

Pros:- 1. Smooth gear shifts.( Gear shifted from 2nd to neutral automatically once, so far)
        2. Smooth(er) engine. (A very debatable topic :P) Felt smooth at 40-50kmph.
        3. Clutch felt lighter.( After oil is warm)
4.Oil does not evaporate easily. No dip in oil level even after 500km. As compared to AX7 and Ultra.
        5. No noticeable change in FE. Was expecting a slight dip.

Cons:- 1. Cold start problem. Even in afternoon at 30-32 deg C. Strange!
        2. Warming the oil take a lot of time. 5 min in the afternoons and way longer in the mornings.
        3. Slightly on the expensive side. Its a SS at the end of the day.
        Thanks for the update.
I am considering 5100 for my next oil change. My friend is using this in his 160 but he rides like there is no tomorrow & his bike reciprocates all the engine oil used in the same manner. So either u pour servo or motul the bike feels the same. :banghead:
Thanx to the guys here i have already got 2 people who are currently using this.
How is the refinement at highway speeds say 70-85 ??
So it does take quite a lot of tym to warm up. Hmmm ok. Will remember.
Thanx for the update. Do keep us posted.

Just did a highway run.. Bike does feel comfortable cruising around 85 but the vibrations start increasing after that! Your hands feel numb after riding for say, 15mins
But till 80-85 kmph it's really refined and very comfortable

Thank you. Say around 75 is the refinement better than ax7 ?

                  Hi.
Bro the 300v is the best oil you can buy, if it does make you feel that the bike is running hot then i guess nothing else can bring it to normal.
But it might be a one off case & only ur bike is heating up, So you can try shell ax7, motul 5100, motul 7100,a fully synthetic mobil oil ( forgot the name),the tvs tru4 oil.
If you are riding your bike wearing slippers or just using 1-3 gears then you might be feeling a bit more heat. It normal though.

Hello , sorry i forgot to mention why i run hot. The reason is the bigger engine. 300v is good if you ask me and as its multi easter based its hard to breakdown by heat and lasts longer( thats what i think) i have tried tvs true4 and motul 5100 they are below average . I live in greater noida and the road are as broad and open as they can be . What i am acctually thinking of using this time is elf fully synthetic used it 2 years back and i still remember how smooth the bike was and the gears .... they were smooth as butter , no oil come as close but it cant handel much heat anyways will give it a try and post the review if anyone wants.
                    Thank you btw

Elf is good. I have heard its Better than 5100.
Brother I couldn't understand the " BIGGER ENGINE "phrase.
You have used 300v so its ovbious that other oils will definitly feel below average. 300v is such a great product.
Btw how long have you been using the 300v. Drain period ??

Elf's fully synthetic is even costlier than the 300v. In terms of smotthness it is top notch . And by big engine i mean a race concepts 190cc engine.
I have been using tru4 and 5100 before 300v but they were not upto my liking. And i jave been using 300v for 3000 or 3500 kms i guess.

how good is tvs remora 110/80, anyone tried using it. Zapper C 110/80 is out of stock, and i prefer to stick with stock size for Rear profile tyre.

I just saw Michelin Pilot Street 110/70-17 yesterday.. You might want to consider that too..

The dry grip is pretty good on the remora tyres. No wheel locking on hard braking so far. The wet grip is decent, but I generally ride pretty slow in wet conditions, so never had to brake hard on wets. As long as you don't try riding hard in wets, I guess it will be good. But give it some gravel/slush to ride on and you will have some heart in the mouth moments. I have ridden for only 1300 kms on the remora as it came stock in my new bike. So, this is just my observation on them. Riders who have ridden more on these tyres, will be able to tell you more about this.
