Abishek94 & sanjaynk15 at what kilometres did you guys had to change the block-piston? Where did you do the job, authorised service? Are you guys running on stock clutch plates? Good luck with the new block-piston!

My ride was at 37.5k km when I got it changed. I bought all the required parts from authorised service centre and took it to my mech.. So an outside mech did it for me.
Clutch plates and chain sprocket set both are stock as of now

Thanks buddy
My bike has done about 41.5k kms. Even i bought all the spare parts from authorized service center and my mech did it for me. I had changed the clutch plates about a month ago and the chain sprocket is just 800 kms old.

Went to the SVC for my third service last Saturday and saw the bike on display...TVS has launched the colour for the RTR 160 it seems. Believe me, my matte black pales out in comparison...The paint job and finish is stunning on the blue one..The bike with its black stripe is a beauty..Wish TVS had launched this earlier...

In the meantime my friend gave me a bottle of Veedol take off 10w30 (he got it in some promotional offer). The oil exceeds API SM, flash point: 210 degree, Min viscosity index: 135, Kinematic viscosity at 100 degree: 11 (min) & 12.3 (max). The smooth gear shifts are back after riding for about 50km. Engine feels good & little stress free, may be because I was using 15w40 R3x. Price mentioned on the pack was Rs 316/-. Will update on the oil after munching some kilometres.
Since You are using a thinner oil, keep an eye on the Oil Level every 400~500 Kms....

Ok Sir, is it just the grade 10w30 or something else? Because before R3x my bike was almost always on 10w30/40 (TVS synthetic, Honda throttle, shell Ax7/ultra, Mobil etc). What's your say on this oil (veedol) sir.

Guess TVS has released the 160 first then...

Veedol is a good make of oil, but I have no Personal experience with it, so cannot comment ...In Chennai we seldom come across any Dealer, spare parts seller, Selling Veedol, since it is not as famous as Castrol , Motul , or Shell..As engine ages and puts in more Kilometers , the tolerances increases , and A thinner oil has a higher chance of slipping through rings , hence my request to you to keep any eye on it's level.

My friend does ride a bit spiritedly & his shifts had become unbearably hard after using the veedol semi.synthetic make for nearly 500km. He changed it 300km later.

Hey guys,
I had chosen Motul 3000 15w50 after installing new bore-piston kit but i feel that the oil is a bit thick as bike takes atleast 5 mins to warm up and during cold start it shuts off many times.
Is there any mineral oil in 10w40 grade? Or shall i go ahead and just pour in Shell AX7(semi-synth)?

Shell AX7 is a refined Mineral oil..you can also try shell AX5 , or Motul 3100 ,Gulf Pride 4T etc., all of which are available in w40 grade(10w40 or 20w40).

Bro, How old is your bike ??
Guys I last filled air in my tyres in july. About 30 in the front & 35 in the rear.
Its still the same. Is this normal or the air guage in my mechanic's garage is broken ??
