Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Looking at the grooves the tyre will be a good one in the wet i think.
Looks a bit slim in comparison to the present remora.
Will wait for ur update after you clock some kms.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
My bike's running on the same zapper c but mine is 120/80-17. The tyre is very good.. Has very good dry and wet grip, rear wheel doesn't lock up easily. I have clocked over 2k kms on this tyre so far and i have had the rear wheel lock up only once when i did brake very hard, but the bike was quite steady.Originally posted by Mr_Many_Places View PostLooking at the grooves the tyre will be a good one in the wet i think.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Just rode for about 12km in heavy rains. The tyre grips decently well, no fuss like the srichakras. Waiting to replace the front tyre as I can feel the front tyre about to loose traction especially after changing the rear tyre.Originally posted by Mr_Many_Places View PostLooking at the grooves the tyre will be a good one in the wet i think.

On a different note, mostly going in for a new bore-piston kit tomorrow. The current one still has a few thousand km's left in it but it just does not give me the peace of mind while riding on the highway as oil level keeps decreasing (sign of wear and tear of piston rings/bore). So I don't want to take the risk of a seized engine in the middle of no where or damage to the crankshaft bearings. Opening up the engine tom to asses the condition and make the necessary changes. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Has anyone used motul 5100 10w30 ??
Is it any different to the 15w50 .
I visited my local motul dealer who quoted Rs.540 for 15w50 & Rs.570 for the 10w30. He said only rtr owners buy 10w30 & demand is less than the other one.
Wouldn't the 10w30 be better than 15w50 for our rtr's as it is of the same grade as recommended ??TVS Apache RTR 180 (2014 - ….)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Few things remains to update since my last post but continuing with the present topic on tyres I will update on my tyre change first. A couple of months back I changed my front tyre to MRF zapper 90/90 R17. Instantly felt the difference, specially on wet roads. On enquiring about rear tyre I came to know that I had two options in stock size: Remora & zapper C. I had experienced remora on my friend's new RTR 180 ABS for a few long rides. Remora is definitely an improvement over old TVS tyres (ABS also shares some credit here). Then I got to ride on the Zapper C which comes as stock in the new ZMR (size is 120 & Rim is 18" but the thread pattern & tyre material is same). I felt the wet grip on the ZMR tyre is at least a notch or two better than the remora. So decided on Zapper C, I came to know that 110 section zapper C isn't as easily available as other Zappers. Had a talk with my nearby MRF exclusive showroom's owner, got his number & kept enquiring him about the tyre. I had no urgency in changing the rear tyre because the stock tyres refused to wear even after 30000km. I think TVS can give longer warranty on these tyres than the engine. This Saturday I got the tyre (Zapper C) fitted. It was raining heavily, as the tyre is new I had to ride carefully before testing its ability. One thing I can surely say is that the rear brake feels better on this tyre & the wet grip is way better than my old TVS tyres. The tyre make is August last week, 2015 so I think this tyre is definitely in production but may be in fewer numbers. Will update after I cover some kilometres on this tyre. Mr_Many_Places, go with the recommended 10w30 grade.Last edited by Traveller01; 10-05-2015, 02:25 AM.

I'l get the motul.
Meanwhile the vendor also showed me Mobil Extra 4T 10w40 ss priced at Rs.350. Its so cheap but is it any good ??.
Motul is No.1 on my list but The mobil at Rs.200 less seems a bargain .TVS Apache RTR 180 (2014 - ….)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hi guys,
My bike's kill switch is not working. Sometimes it does work but i need to press it very hard! Will it do any good if i spray some WD-40? My mech said that there is no replacement for the single switch and i will have to replace the whole RH switch assembly
is it true? And does anyone know what is the cost of RH SWITCH assembly??

I am facing the exact same problem for the last 5000km.. Sometimes it just does not work, other times it works intermittently. I went to tvs svc last week and I saw a notice about the same.. In the notice the same problem was acknowledged and a solution was also provided. It's something to do with the wiring of circuit.. I will try taking a photo of the circular next time I go there.
I fear that one day it will stop working in the 'off' position and I will be stranded on a highway :P

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I too had the same issue once on my rtr. I replaced the whole rh switch assembly. I don't remember the cost. I don't think it's costly. But rusting was the culprit due to water seeping in.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostHi guys,
