The reflector will cost some 2k with bulb. The bulb plug will not be expensive.Originally posted by insurancehunter View Post
Engine heating up is very normal.Five minutes of city riding will heat up the engine. But a few things needs to be checked, A/F ratio needs to be optimum, the engine oil level must be full and check if you are using the right spark plug.Use a better grade engine oil, at least 10W40, some guys use 15W50.Originally posted by andy0104 View Post

Congratulations ! Some pictures please...Originally posted by Mr_Many_Places View PostFinally completed a year with my steed.
A year & 5700km later the bike is running like new. No mechanical problems at all.
Couple of minor problems like chain cover rattling, vibrations in the speedometer console. But all sorted out.
I had put in shell ax7 at 5020 km. Still going good. Very good oil for cruising all day at 80kmph. But the vibrations take a toll on your fingers. They turn numb after an hour of cruising around.
Next oil change scheduled at 7000km.[My Motorcycle]

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Thanks for replying. I will go to the SVC this weekend to check the above. By the way, I saw that they put 10w30 tvs oil during my 1st service, it was in a red colored bottle. Could this also be a reason?Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostEngine heating up is very normal.Five minutes of city riding will heat up the engine. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Yes, the TVS TRU4 10W30 is the reason (or one of the reasons). The engine needs more lubrication and this oil is too thin for the rtr. Change the oil to 10W40 at least or higher (I'v have not tried higher grades).Originally posted by andy0104 View PostThanks for replying. I will go to the SVC this weekend to check the above. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Thanks for this information. My 2nd service is due next month. I will change the oil to the above grade oil. During 1st service they offered me to use the tvs synthetic oil. Is it good to use the synthetic oil in 2nd service? Can it make the engine run cooler and smooth?Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostYes, the TVS TRU4 10W30 is the reason (or one of the reasons).
