  • Vibes are somrthing you have to learn to live with in RTR, specially when the pillion is your better half ..

I've to drive below 4000RPM when she's sitting with me.

      • I dont know how may of you have felt this, but straight line stability of RTR is really a down point of this otherwise awesome bike. Especially against crosswinds. It feels as if the wind is going to throw the bike off the road. Feels scary.
You can only ride better tomorrow if you ride safe today.

I have experienced it only once during my flatout run from Berhampur to BBSR(170kms). There was this downhill concrete section of the highway where it was really windy and i had to face crosswinds. I felt the bike's rear waving at speeds over 120km/hr. Otherwise i haven't faced it again. Things might go unnerving if it's really windy.

          • Cross-winds are always a thing of bother whatever bike you are riding on..!
I am sure you would have experienced this kinda thing in other indian bikes as well..
About straight line ability and control ..I,too,feel less on confidence when trying to push the bike beyond limit. The rear feels as if it would loose the grip..Quite scary at times..
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

            • I've only experienced that when a truck or bus overtakes me when i'm doing 70-80, but on a windy day, otherwise it's good, i haven't faced any of that in my 110-120kmph stint but it was never on a windy day.

You'll face this issue in every INDIAN bike, save for BULLET, cuz it weights real good.
If you're riding double then this wind related issue also decreases.

I have experienced the crosswind problem too during my ride from Bangalore to Pondy recently. However, it was not scary!

                  • One more to the list!!
The kicker at times gets stuck near the foot pegs(Feeler bolts to be precise!!) and the idling goes high! I had never come across anything like this before. I guess some skill and a bit of experience with RTR would solve the issue.

Never heard or experienced this problem with Apaches!
And,I remember this was the case with this stupid x-treme where before kick-starting the bike you need to fold back the pegs.Rubbish actually..!
I feel there's quite a free swing between the pegs and kick..

Wait ..lemme check and see it again!

                          • After 20000+kms on the odo I honestly have never even once used the kick! Well... maybe this one time, but that was just to see whether the kick works or not. And it was really hard to kick. Was like kickstarting a bullet without the compression

I always use the kick start when I start it for the first time in a day but later use the self start. I never found it hard to kick. When the bike was new it took a few kicks to stat it with the throttle in idle position but now it starts with a kick or two.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.
