  • I start the day with a kick!

If the bike is teflon coated, what precautions do I need to take while washing?

    • The kick getting stuck to the footpegs happened to me too!! Very irritating...

Also, my bike stopped when there were 2 bars on the fuel guage. I put it on reserve and rode it. The lower end of the fuel guage says R not E... I am confused now. How do I know when to put in reserve?

completed 250 kms now.. Comfortably biking now.

Learnt riding fast is easy, riding slow at less than 10kmph takes skill Bangalore traffic taught me this!

Don't rely on the display of the fuel level. When the bike gets to reserve, you will notice it gasping for fuel, only then turn the knob to reserve position from 'on' position. And also you can calculate mileage from that point as well. The readings shown in the display is 'approximate' not 'accurate'!!

        • ClipON adjustment

Any of the RTR180 owners here tried to change the position of the clip ons??

I mean i read somewhere that the clipons of 180 are different than the 160, cuz TVS says that the clipons of 160 are adjustable but they are not.

Their movement is hampered by the two screws that holds the console and fairing in place (you can see it by opening the triple clamp cover), so 180 has the same setup or diff???

cuz to make them move, as they have three settings of which the third one is not possible only two are possible as they are seperated by mm's but makes a large diff.

I was thinking to get it leth'ed but i dropped the idea.

yes they are. if u loosen n completely remove the bolts on the individual pieces (the one's below the center plastic panel) u will see two positions where you can set the handle bar. i have done that a couple of times.

Evn i got it adjusted to a more sporty position at my last service a few days back. But i will get it back to the default position as i feel the last one was more comfortable and sporty at the same time.

What about the two screws that holds the fairing??

But after removing the nuts completely and trying to pull the handlebar towards the petrol tank, that is the second position, the two big screws that's on the metallic clamp are coming in a way, how to get rid of those??

I dont remember exactly but in no way was anything else coming in the way. There were only two positions that you could have the clip ons at. One is the default and the other is the one more towards the petrol tank.

The process is not mentioned in the manual. Just take it to the SVC, they will take care of it.

Just see to it that no water touches the bike for atleast a day, then after that everything as usual.

Did some research on it! This happens when the foot slips off from the kicker during the kick. You can overcome it by placing your heel in such a fashion that the kicker divides your heel into halves. The problem arises when you use toe end of the heel for the kick!!

Thanks Sarvajit. The coat is more than a week old!! That means I haven't washed since then! Stuck in my laboratory!

The showroom mechanic asked me to tank up with only normal petrol and not with premium ones. Why?

91 octane fuel is only recommended for vehicles with engine compression ratio of 10.0:1 and beyond. Your vehicle is less than 10.0:1.
