I am kinda having a problem(cording to me). I dont exactly know but after riding for few kms, at a speed of 60 to 70 kmph(and at a higher speed although i feel it but not able to hear it coz of the screeming sound of the motor) i hear a very annoying buzzing sound may be from the front fairing or from the left side of the handlebar or may be i can say from the left front. Is it normal with RTR 180 coz as i remember initially there was nothing but only after doing a stretch of 260 km this problem started.
Even got her serviced but still problem is there. May be something is loose and m not able to figure it out.
Please guys help me on this coz this sound is killing me.
Check the fairing closely, you'll find a rubber piece missing from either left or right side,(it's in between the plastic which wraps the speedo console and the fairing) fit it back.

Off late I have also been noticing a buzz in the front which sounds a lot like the front fairing vibrating. When I bought the bike I had noticed that there was one small rubber piece in the center between the speedo console and the fairing and its still there, haven't checked if anything's come loose though.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

You need to do check it for yourself and adopt the trial-and-error method of fixing rubber pads and tightening the bolts accordingly. No other solution.

I guess I should, just been a bit too lazy. I don't think that can be eliminated completely just minimized. All the three bikes I owned had it to some degree or the other.

I did the same and now there are absolutely no vibrations, whatsoever at any rpms. Though for every 1000kms it again creeps in and i again fix it to eliminate the noise.

The pads are constantly in touch with the disc. That keeps generating heat.

The rear disc doesn't get cooling effect like the front and that shows its effect.
Next, the rear pads are made soft so that it only aids in stopping and doesn't lock up the wheel. Both the factors put together, It is normal for rear disc pads to wear out soon even with very limited usage.
hmm, sounds like a logical explanation but what about the excessive wear on the disc then? i've seen heavily used front discs after 5-6 years with less wear. the thickness (original) on the outer circumference of the disc is more than 1mm more than the inner, biting surface. i haven't measured exactly how much but i'm sure it's almost out of the spec of 3.5mm min thickness.

              • It's 4 in the morning and I've read all the RTR180 threads discussed in Xbhp over the months!
Interesting to know about near 100 pages were discussed before the launch of the bike..
That promotional video is simply awesome..I want a good quality(preferably HD) clip of the same(Not that one on youtube)..

Going for a ride soon after I get over this post..

I am in love with RTR all over again...

Check the side rubbers too, then check the bolts which holds the "visior" in place, better insert a thin piece of rubber (from a cycle tube) as a lining and then bolt it back.

                      Thanks chicane!

But why ain't all the videos in full-screen mode??..like we have for promos in t.v...Have you noticed that when the bike power-slides it's only the engine cover that we can see and not the whole bike like in t.v.ads!.That is the best part of the vid...There should definitely be one of that kind on youtube!

Nops, haven't noticed that. Will try to note next time. Btw, the latest AD shows the awards which the bike has garnered till date and in the end they mention as RTR series of bikes.. which means some more(?!) are in the pipeline.
