Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I rode to college today, but classes were suspended later. The weather was great, and so I went on a spontaneous ~200km solo ride
I noticed towards the end that the bike was butter smooth; even the vibrations were negligible. Usually, my right RVM vibrates at 4-6k rpm, and even that stopped. I am using the TVS synthetic oil. Has anyone else experienced this? What would be the reason for this?TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS + ADV Breed + TBG Street

Lol, you get to see this only in the rtr thread :P people asking for the reason why bike is not vibrating

my bikes tail light is wrapped with 50% tint:Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostDo post. I might get the bike wrapped and with no branding but just one or two small logos.
Wrapping is a good idea, what is the primary color you are planning for?

When an RTR doesn't vibrate, I'm naturally curiousOriginally posted by Abishek94 View PostLol, you get to see this only in the rtr thread :P people asking for the reason why bike is not vibrating 😂
Lol, I don't know what I was thinking; just wondering if anyone had an explanation for it, I guess.

All matt black, with no hints of any other color anywhere, not even the whites, then small fonts of Apache in fluorescent on side and my YouTube name under it. Even the indicators will be tinted soon. Trying to make a cover for the headlight that can be easily removed on the goOriginally posted by Abishek94 View Postmy bikes tail light is wrapped with 50% tint:

Haha yeah it SHOULD vibrate. On a serious note, mine also vibrates less when the engine is coldOriginally posted by cep View PostWhen an RTR doesn't vibrate, I'm naturally curious

Well I do not have a exact reason why this sort of stuff happens but my wild guess is that vibrations are less when the engine oil has reached its optimum operating temperature.
A small experiment you can try. Early in the morning ride for some 8-10kms sanely within 5k rpm. Then leave it for half an hour & then ride it back. You will surely notice the cylinder firing's evenly & bike vibrates a bit less.
Meanwhile my ride is turning into a vibrator. I had last changed my oil (shell ax7) in the first week of july. Bike is very vibey. Going for motul 5100 10w30 in december.TVS Apache RTR 180 (2014 - ….)

Oh yes! I have felt this too... The theory about the engine oil reaching its optimum temperature must be right, thenOriginally posted by Mr_Many_Places View PostOh yess. Many times.

I am planning to go for the Shell AX7 too... How much ODO has the AX7 pulled so far?Meanwhile my ride is turning into a vibrator. I had last changed my oil (shell ax7) in the first week of july. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Recently took my bike out, and it started giving trouble.
Looks like the handling is messed up, bike steers to the right always. I gave it for service at TVS Service center itself and the mech told that it can be fixed by tightening forks. 2 months later, am still scaring the crap out of my fellow riders who are on the right side.
What should I look for ?
Wheel alignment ? Cone set ? Bent Forks ?

I will go for the Shell Advance Ultra. ThanksOriginally posted by satish_patil View PostTry Shell advance ultra. My bike became very smooth once I switched to this. It lasts at least 5-6k kms.. I have so far done 12k kms using shell ultra. Currently 3rd top up in use, and I will keep using the same.. :P
Do you have some squeaking noise from the forks (especially when you are starting out)? I had the same problem, and the culprit was an uneven front fork setup. I was also told that they had not tightened the forks before giving delivery.Originally posted by kantu View Post... Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
The ax7 has clocked close to 1700kms(6 months). Its showing its age now. I will change the oil within the first week of december. You can go for shell advance ultra too. Its a very good oil, though its pricey being a fully synthetic one. Close to 750 bucks. Since you are clocking quite big numbers a day a fully synthetic wont be bad. Just keep checking the cylinder head for oil leakages. Its usually associated to rtr when you use fully synthetic oils.Originally posted by cep View PostOh yes! I have felt this too... Do fully-synthetic / semi-synthetic oils require draining and refilling like the regular mineral oils? Or does one simply top them up?Originally posted by satish_patil View PostCurrently 3rd top up in use, and I will keep using the same.. :PTVS Apache RTR 180 ABS + ADV Breed + TBG Street
