    But I do not hold the handlebars tight. I keep the pressure as light as possible and try to grip the tank with my thighs. Still I will check again this weekend during my morning ride and try to keep it as light as possible.

      The wind turbulence causes this.
      Its a normal phenomena. Nothing to worry about. Our bike being only 130kgs its more susceptible to this. I have even felt this on the duke390 but not on enfields. They are pretty rock solid owing to their weight.

      Revving the bike once or twice a month is fine. If you do it regularly it can wear out your engine & other parts. Too much redlining leads to excessive noises from the engine,chassis & nuts,bolts & others.
      Try to find the speed where the bike feels the least stresssed. This will lead to longer health of bike & its moving parts. In my bike its around 75-80kmph.

        I do not rev my bike all the time. I generally ride within 65-80 km/h depending on the road/traffic conditions. The top speed I just did once just out of curiosity. BTW, I ride an apache rtr 160. Can you tell me what is the true top speed of apache rtr 160 or 180 ?

          Well the manual states that the top speed of 180 is 124 kmph. Speedo indicated I did 134 on my 180, but there speedo error in our consoles too.
          Around 6%. So yes you can say true top speed is 124. When my friend does 100 om his duke 390 I do around 105/106 on my 180.
          True Top speed of the 160 I think will be around 115. Do check your manual . It must be given there for sure.

                I think the new tyres are a bit better than the old hard-compound ones. The dry grip is good. And the wet grip is pretty decent. I am speaking about the stock tyres on a RTR 180 ABS 2015. I have been on them for about 9000 kms / 9 months now. I think they'll last me another 4000 to 5000 kms.

                As Prateek said, you can always go for after-market tyres. My advice would be to try the stock ones for 500 odd kms; and if it still feels like walking on grease, switch to a good after-market tyre.

                  Remora's will easily last last north of 20000kms. The front will close to 30000kms They are a notch better than srichakra's .My friends front srichakra lasted for eternity(i.e 45000kms)

                    Thanks for responding ,,,I would be buying 180 NON ABS as am not comfortable with ABS breaking also I ride between 30-60kmph .....
                    I have one more important point to ask,, how about RTR 160 ,,is it same case for tyres ??? also what difference does it make with single disc and double disc rear in 160 ???

                      I know it's none of my business, but why exactly are you not comfortable with ABS?

                      Trust me when I say ABS will save your life some day. Irrespective of how experienced a rider you are, you will panic-break some time or the other (our roads and our people, huh). Plus, if you ever want to ride without ABS (say when you want to pull a stoppie), you can always turn it off. Your 30-60kmph marker will vanish when you get comfortable with your RTR. ABS doesn't hurt. Just my two cents.

                        Changed my front tyre today. Bought the mrf zapper fy1 which is r15 v2.0 front tyre. The grip that this tyre offers is just insane. You can literally scrape footpegs at every corner with full confidence which I couldn't do with the tvs tyres or the Michelin pilot sporty front tyre. This tyre is just on another level compared to the other tyres in this segment.
                        So my current setup is mrf zapper fy1 at the front and mrf zapper c at the rear. Just loving the front tyre and recommend it to everyone looking for a tyre change.

                          If you have the budget go for the abs model.
                          Rear disc is much more effective than the drum brake. The only bike in India whose rear disc works as A DISC brake is RTR's.
                          All other bikes present have rear disc which feel wooden & worse than the rear drum brake of a splendor.
                          Both the 160 & 180 use the same tyre setup.

                            . will be buying just after clarifying these two points
