Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding.
twice while braking I experience skidding. One at the signal where it was covered with gravel as I mentioned. Another while turning when a cyclist came against me while exactly turning and I lost control of the bike while pressing both the brakes for a sudden stop. And then some throttle and wheel spin also happened. I was thinking that it was due to the bad tyres. The signal incident should be definietely due to bad tyres as I was almost at standstill.

Practice braking! Tires are important but in most cases, we are at fault. Use the front brakes MORE than rear brakes!

Yes sir I have gone through it! But I was at a very low speed and I hit front brake too. Dont know why. In a subway after a rain, I experienced a wheelspin on the wet surface. I think the tyres are good only on dry surface. But I loved when the wheel spin happened :P because it gave me a sudden ad-rush and thank goodness I was at a controllable speed :P

          Hi all,
          its about 2 1/4 years and 19.5 k kms.
Apache; its much better than a new one.
Done 0-60 in 3.3 sec again.
though top end is now 133 , dont know why,it used to do 135 with ease on the same stretch.

          but
love that decision of choosing apache rtr 180 over pulsar 200ns (no offence)

love you apache and the rtr ofcource.

Tested with other apaches and they are fine without this issue. My bike is due for the first service. Is it a problem and what should I tell the SVC guy to correct, if so?

The bike seems to vibrate with irregular intervals. Like it vibrates once in 4k rpm in 3rd and 4th gears but the next couple of times it doesn't. Around 250km on odo and the bike pulls smoothly in all gears. Took the bike twice in 60-70 kmph range when the roads I rode on were lil free. The posture seems to be a bit tiresome but I referred to the manual and found that the handle bars can be adjusted. I think its given only for the width of the handle bars. Is it possible for the height? The tyres gave me heart breaks twice while braking on uneven road surfaces with the gravels loosely coming out of the road. To my shocking surprise this happened once at signal where I was rolling the bike at 5-6kmph to adjust between the vehicles around me. The front wheel went to the right when I braked at almost standstill at that signal. I am getting used to the bike and I feel it will be alright after first service.

Initially I filled 9.5 litres fuel and the tank still appears good with fuel. I do not believe the fuel level indicator. It has just reduced only by 1 bar and I feel its deceptive. I opened the fuel tank to check and I can feel a lot of fuel inside moving. But the SVC people say the fuel level is good enough and I can top up at the worst only when the indicator shows reserve.

Yes, please mention in the service center about the handle bar swerving issue.

And didn't you get the Remora tyres? I am really loving both the grip and the look of the tyres, they are extremely confidence inducing in my case.
and since my bike is the ABS version I don't really have to worry about a lot of Skids, that said the tyres are quite decent for our daily commuting.

Get the RPM to 8-9 once before the service.
Even I feel the fuel bar is faulty, its perpetually in 1 bar for me but I just had 50km mileage !

I would say you try the tyres on different terrains. It works well on normal roads. I have the ABS too and it works depending on how I'm speeding. Like with sudden starts and brakes when I hit the lever hard, it worked thrice preventing my front wheel from touching the vehicle before. I love everything else about the bike except for the vibration which has become more nowadays and the painful seating at times.

You hate Tires, Vibrations and Seating position. I am seriously thinking, Why you even like the bike!!!!!.
Dude, give it the time. Even 1st servicing is not complete. And you are not riding your bike frequently. Do a thing, go for a 100 Km ride before the 1st servicing. Connect with your bike. Then tell me.

I sure will do. Since its the first bike I'm owning I feel the tyres on the herohonda and suzuki max 100 which I used to ride were doing better :P I love the bike because it looks so good and it gives me adrenaline rush. It's easy for me to handle it and its economical too. I am determined to find the suitable seating posture with time B) And I have no clue why its vibrating more nowadays. Regarding tyres, I am clueless too. I'll get used to it too. And I don't hate any of those . It's new to me and other bike owners complain least about such troubles.

You own an Apache, you learn to live with the vibrations !
Regarding your seating, what is your height? I am 5'9'' and I used to drive a passion Plus earlier. Given my height I felt Apache is quite comfortable and I hardly ever feel uncomfortable or get back aches.

Also, yes I tried the tyres on Dry, Wet, Sandy and Gravel. Always felt ABS makes its presence felt and that the tyres are not at all bad.

Took a test ride of a "serviced" test RC390 yesterday..
I seriously wonder as to why we RTR owners complain about vibrations.!!

Is the front disc brake rotor covered under warranty? Mine has pretty bad scratches on it and has lost thickness at the point where brake pads come in contact with the disc rotor. I asked at one svc, he said disc rotor is a wear and tear part hence not covered under warranty. I've not heard of disc rotor undergoing wear and tear such that it loses most of its thickness within 20k km. Brake pads have always been changed well within the wear limit.
So is it covered under warranty?

You mentioned yours is an ABS version right. How did the bike skid ? I have tried a few times, never had a skid till day unless it was extremely sandy and handlebar was very cross.

just bought a MRF zapper C tyre for the rear 110/80 R17, paid Rs3500 for it( have a paid too much??). previous TVS tyre wasnt worn out but had a lot of punctures and the puncture guy adviced me to either get rid of it or use a tube.since my bike had run 18k kms i decided to change.now was getting a Zapper C better decision than going in for the REMORA tyres or choosing Pirelli sport demon which costs a BOMB (Rs.4500) a better choice??

For once TVS SVC is telling the truth. The rotor is definitely a ware and tear component. But 20k km is a very short life span.

What!! 3500Rs for a MRF zapper C.. ? Let me put it in this way; you would have got a Michelin Pilot Sporty 120/80 & some 10 liters of petrol for the same amount of money. The zapper c is some 2.2k on a few websites.
Did you go to J.C road for tyres? Did the dealer tell you that Mrf has too much demand and 110/80 17" is a very rare size?

Well, I have an ABS version and I have managed to skid, low side, the bike twice. Once it was wet and in a hard left curve on slow speed. The other time I flew off a newly constructed mud hump. Too much gravel and bike didn't stop. So it is possible.
