Hmmm.... no dude ! .... I told him tht its 0.8mm i think for the rtr ...but he repeated 0.8 and then said something in Tamil ... Language can be a real barrier here sometimes :-/ ....
I didn't see him use any plates or a gauge to measure, he just tightened it a bit .... And said its alright now....

What can be the hazards of this? And how can i find out if its not optimum?

Btw bike is running good now, no feeling as if compression is not proper, lack of fuel or exhaust gases not able to escape .....

Ok, so read a few things about tight tappets online, below is what I gathered -

Hazards can be that I might burn my exhaust valve if its way too tight and also the cylinder head in case there is no space for it to expand on heating....! Also as @pcgamer said, everyone reccomends slightly loose tappets over tight ones!

Symtoms of tight tappets they say are -
        1) Loss in performance and bike runs sluggish
        2) The exhaust fumes get very rich, smell of petrol
        3) The engine sounds very quiet during running
        4) The engine heats very fast
        5) The engine seems rough on idle

For me, I have not really got the engine to heat up as teh thought of tight tappets was there in my mind, so cant say for engine heat. But yea, the bike does sounds slighlty more quiet or refined I would say. The idle is not rough at all, rather its pretty smooth. No loss in performance, or rich fumes, just a quiter engine than before. N

Not sure what to do...probably wait and watch~ ~ ! .... if this tappet setting won't hamper the engine or show other symtoms listed above I would say I am happy not chaing the settings as it runs smoother and sounds better to me now! A long ride will probably reveal a few things...

        Cheers!

Looking good! How did you fit the front indicators? I mean, what part of the headlight assembly should be removed to access the indicators?

Since you have already read about the tight clearance part, I'd say, get hold of feeler gauge strips and try to take the readings (0.07 and 0.09 mm for RTR160) (only if you're confident of doing that. You can use Drifty's guide BTW) when the engine is bone cold. You can also take it to a reputed mechanic who knows what he's doing.

Just a small suggestion: Don't let a non SVC mechanic anywhere near the engine unless you're sure about his knowledge. If an SVC mechanic messes something up, you can at least complain to the company. But with a roadside mechanic, you're on your own.

Hmm.... Ill find a good mech and get this done ... or maybe another SVC in the city .... I have started feeling that the tappets might be too tight ....

Summer's coming up! so I want to remove the rear fender. Is it removable by ourselves? Took my bike for first long ride of 170km last Sunday when it was 500 odd km old. The bike performed really well and amazingly no body pain. Engine feels so refined. Did a top speed run of 116 kmph. I was mostly doing 50-60-70kmph. Now I feel there would be a drop in mileage as I crossed beyond 5k rpm several times during the ride even before run in was completed. Is it so?

You have nothing to worry, if you kept varying the rpm. Giving the bike bursts of speed for a few seconds is good, makes it smooth on all rpms. So relax and enjoy your new ride.
Change both, the oil filter and engine oil when you go for servicing.
                  Ride safe.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

The whole headlight assembly needs to be taken out for indicators. Although its just 3 nuts
