The R15 and the RTR 180 are so close to each other in terms of outright acceleration that even a hair's breadth difference in rider weight/conditions/gear shifting could alter the result. But when it comes to mid range performance and power rush the RTR is heads and shoulders above the R15.Originally posted by HydBiker View Post

Dude..but on the straights there's no R15 beater in the RTR family!
R15 is nothing below 6k region whereas RTR delivers some serious adrenaline rush from as low as 3k..
Actually,I don't understand what is the problem with my RTR??..I tried my asses off to clock under 4.0 sec for 60kmph dash in that bloody speedo and then today i tried to push it as hard as it can go,of course,to check the top end..Now even on arrow straight expressway of Noida it was hard to get past 125kmph!.
May be my RTR is 'slower' than the other ones which clock 3.6 sec to 60kmph and record 134kmph-the top whack!!
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

^^^ look at the brighter side of it... may be your RTR doesn't have speedo error!
With error or not, what you've got is a great speed. What would you achieve by clocking say 5 KMPH more? Enjoy your ride. Don't screw it trying to push to the limits.

Ok my bike has done almost 400 kms. First service coming up soon so have to get prepared for engine oil and stuff. Recommend me some good oils. I know that i should be using mineral oil for now. And i can afford a Motul. But is it worth the extra dough over the Castrol?
Im expecting smoother gears with the engine oil change. And also it would be good if you could tell me the exact model name of whatever engine oils you suggest along with their price.
Do i need to buy chain clean and chain lube now only? You can only ride better tomorrow if you ride safe today.

Hitting speed above 125 is a bit difficult buddy.... I hit 130 on NH7, after a lot of attempts... there is the wind to consider... on my way to Tirunelveli, the wind was against me... and i couldnt get above 115!! But on the way back... I easily reached 129... Then I had to take advantage of a slight gradient to hit 130.... it takes forever to climb each digit after 125... Then another way is to draft bigger vehicles... I tried following in the slip stream of a Bolero and speed was climbing faster than usual... but then dropped out...Originally posted by shivank View PostDude..but on the straights there's no R15 beater in the RTR family!

And I dont have to say its quite dangerous... though i was fully geared up, I got scared at times when hit by sudden crosswinds...
Ride safe!

the actuall party starts from 4000.
i bet you again trusted the timer of the RTR, the figures given by it are no good and unless you're using V-BOX or GPS you wont get the correct timings.Originally posted by shivank View PostActually,I don't understand what is the problem with my RTR??..I tried my asses off to clock under 4.0 sec for 60kmph dash in that bloody speedo and then today i tried to push it as hard as it can go,of course,to check the top end..Now even on arrow straight expressway of Noida it was hard to get past 125kmph!.

and RTR never pulls to it's top speed, it gets to 100 real quick but takes time to climb after 115-120 and you need one good stretch of highway to make that digital go from 125 to 128 even, and in case of R15, it also never pulls to the top end but the brilliantly designed fairing works wonders for it's top speed.Last edited by rennycornelius; 12-22-2009, 10:10 AM.The Magician"

you made it lean, turn it the other way.
the phat phat sound is the backfire common with RTR and FIERO, it's the unburnt fuel that gets spitted out from the engine, dont worry for it and enjoy the sound specially in 2 and 3 gears after pulling and leaving the throttle. The Magician"

And i don't really drive fast but for weekends on expressway!
I'll take care the next time..
It's scary when you get back home..isn't it? Not on the tarmac for sure!Originally posted by lijok View PostHitting speed above 125 is a bit difficult buddy.... What you are talking here,i guess,is the pull which RTR gives above 4000 rpm!..But for me treat starts from 2k only.It is then when you hear that slight and vibration-free thump of the machine..Once you go go past 4k it does pull lke hell but with grinder type of feeling!Originally posted by rennycornelius View Postwell said.

How much does a V-BOX cost?If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!
