  • Hey guys,
Got my RTR 180 45 days back and first service is done too. The bike is Good except for the posture. It's fine till 30 kms or so but riding for 2 hours at a stretch gives a little back pain. Really concerned about this, and i wanted to know whether the settings can be adjusted a little bit on my first service but found out it was the last setting... Anyways will go for a long ride and check it out. Otherwise the acceleration, the attention it gets on the road, everything is good.... Even mileage so far is great, 48 kmpl. Seriously planning to do something about the handle bar, even change it if possible. Any suggestions plz let me know... Ride safe....

im still confused about this thing Im still an amateur

another thing, sometimes when i downshift, the gear will not shift down no matter how hard i press the lever. Thats very irritating in the traffic.

      • @ guitarfreak 'Blip' means all u have to do is wring your throttle a bit so that the rpm goes high just for a few seconds to compensate for the rpm rise resulting from the downshifting. Dont do it too much just the amount needed for the compensation. Say for eg. if your rpm is 3k and when u downshift it'll go to 4.5k then u shud give throttle so that it goes to 4.5k not more than that, this will come thru experience only. Keep trying till u get it. The engine wont feel the strain and it's a good practice and amazingly you wont feel the jerk it gives you everytime u downshift. hope this clears your doubt.... Actually ppl who had used a 2 stroke are good in this and i learnt to do it in my RX and i tell u, u really learn to ride smooth and i've got lots of appreciation after i adopted that technique. You are fast, engine brake at the same time you are smooth!!!!!! Happy Riding......

Ok i will have to practice that. Washed my bike today at the local garage. The guy who washed was throwing water like hell, all over the bike including the speedo and the engine and everything. Is that ok? And after that the rear brake has started giving screeching sounds.

          • Hi,
As you have said abt brakes sound it will dissapear before first service and a temporary solution for that will be cleaning it with pressured water (like he did) and then drying it asap ....

And abt gears lacking smoothness it will too dissapear and false neutral is still a problem . Hoping to get rid of it asap (Its not my rides fault . I am bad with machines)

            Thanks....Ride safe......

again to get rid of this, leave the clutch halfway till you get it engaged slightly, while the engine running, and tap the lever, you'll get it positive.

              • Disk brake noise cant be rectified permanantly. It is bound to come once dust settles in there. It'll be noise free only for sometime after it's been cleaned, so learn to live with it. ....

it was the puncture wallah who filled it with that much air... he didn't have that Air-pressure measuring instrument ...
about the ride??? the tyre was wobbling some times and it gave me thoughts of another puncture...

but that pressure gauge was correct and it was 62 PSi in my bike's rear tyre...

                    • Seems like im getting used to the gearbox. Getting a lot less falses when i hit the lever real hard while upshifting and once i get a click sound i know it has shifted properly. But that takes sometime to change the gear and i dont like riding like that. Is there any other technique for faster upshifting (other than the one in which u dont use the clutch at all) ? And while upshifting should the clutch be pressed all the way or halfway?

BTW, here is a pic of my ride.

                      • Whats the top speed youve hit? I got 124kph, it wouldnt go further. The manual says it tops at 124 as well. Just wondering.

                              Its shocking u get 48kmpl..
i get mostly 38 kmpl only..
And about the brake noise it can be rectified by rotating the wheels in double stand and water wash the disk plates while it rotates..
it helps remove dust and reduce the noise..

                              • Guys im facing a little issue and would really like to know from you all if its really a problem. The front wheel of my bike makes a "khach khach" sound while rotating. Its as if a particular point of the disc is touching something constantly while its revolving with the tyre.
I took it to the service center and the supervisor there told me its the disc pads touching the disc plate coz the pads are new and thick now. And he told me its normal. But the sound its making is quite loud and clear while the bike is running at low speeds. Maybe its also there at higher speeds but i cant hear it coz of the throttle noise. So i need to know is it really normal? Has anyone faced this issue? It wasnt there the day i bought the bike. It has started after the first wash.
