Hey All,

So I finished my first service at 550 Km's. The guys changed the Oil filter and oil.
I kept asking for Mineral oil but they mentioned they never heard of it and so I went for SS 10W30 TVS.

And I don't know who did what but they had somehow disconnected some wire related to ABS, so had to take it back the next day to have it fixed.

Now, the changes since the shift to SS is that I feel the gear shifts are smoother and false neutrals are rarer. My riding style is so that I never go for Engine Knocking. As in, I frequently down shift rather than pull the engine. I think this affects mileage but is it better than knocking?

Also, the vibrations keep creeping in when I have a sudden spurt at the start and move to say 5-6 RPM (mostly False neutral) . I think thats the issue srinath2494 faced.

Bought new Bottom Tube for left side fork for ABS. Cost me 1515 INR including two oil filters and VAT.

Bottom Tube
Part Number: N91008208R. Cost: INR 1207.86

Oil Filter
Part Number: N3102420. Cost: INR 57.64

Took the bike from mechanic. There is some bobbing at front. Mechanic says it is because of the new oil seal. He said it will take some time to wear and seat properly.

Hey Guys,

I own RTR with both front and rear disk brakes. Could you guide me how to clean them in/after rainy day.. i'm hearing creeking noise while applying my front brake.

I guess it isn't much of a problem if the pads are relatively new. You may clean it with water. Just don't use a high pressure pump on the apparatus.

Rotate the wheel and direct a jet of water on the disc at the point of contact of brake pads and disc (there will be a tiny gap, aim the water at this gap). This will dislodge any dust/stones stuck onto the brake pads due to rains. Do it a few times for both brakes and see.
If the sound still doesn't go away then you can remove the brake pads and rub them with sand paper which will definitely solve the creeking noise.

May this year be a smooth , vibration free one :P !

BTW, what's the mileage you guys manage on the 180 ? (ABS doesnt make much difference to mileage right?)

Happy new year guys!
Went for a 220km ride today
I was cruising at 90-100kmph for most part of the ride and but for this instance: from 90kmph in fifth gear on a flat road with moderate winds, i tucked myself close to the tank and managed this without redlining any of the first 4 gears:

Mileage check:
Method used - reserve to reserve
In city: mileage of 37kmpl. Its a bit low but then I'm shifting at 7-8rpm almost all the time except bumper to bumper traffic.
On highway: 45kmpl while riding at speeds of 90-100kmph consistently with occasional bursts upto 115kmph.
I changed spark plug recently and after around 300km of highway riding, found the colour of the plug to be darkish brown. a:f ratio is a slightly on the richer side but its better than running lean so will leave it like this

My bike tends to go towards right if I set it up straight and release my hands from the handle bar. It happens in all speed ranges. Tested with other apaches and they are fine without this issue. My bike is due for the first service. Is it a problem and what should I tell the SVC guy to correct, if so?

The bike seems to vibrate with irregular intervals. Like it vibrates once in 4k rpm in 3rd and 4th gears but the next couple of times it doesn't. Around 250km on odo and the bike pulls smoothly in all gears. Took the bike twice in 60-70 kmph range when the roads I rode on were lil free. The posture seems to be a bit tiresome but I referred to the manual and found that the handle bars can be adjusted. I think its given only for the width of the handle bars. Is it possible for the height? The tyres gave me heart breaks twice while braking on uneven road surfaces with the gravels loosely coming out of the road. To my shocking surprise this happened once at signal where I was rolling the bike at 5-6kmph to adjust between the vehicles around me. The front wheel went to the right when I braked at almost standstill at that signal. I am getting used to the bike and I feel it will be alright after first service.

Initially I filled 9.5 litres fuel and the tank still appears good with fuel. I do not believe the fuel level indicator. It has just reduced only by 1 bar and I feel its deceptive. I opened the fuel tank to check and I can feel a lot of fuel inside moving. But the SVC people say the fuel level is good enough and I can top up at the worst only when the indicator shows reserve.

Cone set issue. Surprised to know that it's on a new bike. To be on the safe side get the front forks alignment checked too.
Also while braking, ensure the bike is dead straight and not tilted.
