Generally batteries last for around 3-5 years of normal usage.. If it's holding charge normally, then don't worry about it.

In matters such as this some user discretion is always advised. Get the battery checked outside to see if it has charge and if it is holding charge. And batteries last more than 3-5 years easy but tend to loose effective charge after 3 years of use irrespective of type/duration of use.

Today I got a small nail sized scratch on the left tail section of my rtr while going through a narrow gate. It appears to be deep though; showing layer beneath the paint layer. Is there any way to remove the scratch? Do SVCs do some paint jobs like these? It appears to be a black dot on the new white skin of my bike.

AFAIK such kind of services are only provided for cars...It will be good if the same is provided for bikes but very little person are concerned about removing scratches on bikes. Less demand so not providing such services. Anyway you can checkout in any paint shop or sticker/graphics job shops. They might have a solution.

I hope you rectified the issue. If not get it rectified before you get stuck in middle of the road during night riding and risk yourself.

Heard from svc that its not covered in warranty too and that I ll have to pay depending on the intensity of the scratch. Need to look at it during first service and then negotiate about the rate if I really feel it needs to be cured at that time.

Get a nice sticker job or just paste the sticker of the same colour as you bike. Don't waste your time with scratches, this is India and idiots are in abundance here. Also a few scratches are good as they keep bigger damages at bay (prevents shani dosham. LOL :P)

Change the battery as soon as possible. It will die abruptly someday. I Ignored the warning, and one day suddenly my bike wont start. I had to kick it atleast 100 times to start(I hadnt used Kick ever in first 2 Years of ownership, except on the day I took the delivery, Hence it was jammed ).

Its a minor thing. Will you get the bike part painted every time there is a scratch?

True, Its a waste of money. Money better spent on maintaining the engine which is vital.

But now I'm thinking the same. I shall be careful hereafter. I'll just ask the svc during first service

You are worrying too much brother, Proper sports Bikes like R15, CBR 150, 250, Rc 200, 390 ect ect, dont even come with the main stand (They have no place for the main stand, as the ground clearance is very low, and adding a center stand will further lower the Ground clearance and mess up the center of gravity, and hence the handling). They spend all their working life on the side stand and nothing ever happens to them.... No bad effect at all. If Japanese companies like Yamaha and Honda think that bikes are safe on the side stand, i thing that its pretty safe to assume that they are indeed safe, and nothing is gonna go wrong with the engine. After all the insane amount of money these companies invest on research and development is off the charts and the results are pretty reliable and trustworthy.

So if you can engage the man stand, well and good, if not side stand will do the job perfectly.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.
