Im a novice in biking and apache is my first bike too, but thats what I'd do. Aa slight engine roar is ok. Bike loves that! srinath2494

Letting the revs drop is necessary but to let it drop to idle is wrong as the bike's engine breaking will try to compensate and make the ride jerky.
Best to release the clutch lever slowly with 5-10% throttle as required for upto 3rd gear from neutral.

Then, every morning kick start and let it idle for about 1min to 1.5mins. This ensures circulation of engine oil to all parts of the engine. Then you can start riding below 4k rpm.
Engines are not so fragile, a few hard downshifts till you learn properly or occasional higher rpms shouldn't be a problem.
sure, thanks!

Exactly. And this is bad for the engine. But if you are new to biking, it might take some time to get accustomed to it, depends how often you ride.
This is my personal experience

Nobody here is an expert (not even the experts). We all just bring what we know to the table and let anyone who needs it use it (knowledge I mean).
So I the spirit of sharing I shared a piece of knowledge which aided me in my rookie days (about 15 years ago). Those who are new may use the method I mentioned to ease their rides just as I did.
And trust me brother compared to some others on this site I am a rookie too.

Still waiting for rply/update on after market levers. Theoritically all levers should fit , but shop keepers say otherwise.

About two months ago, I had asked at a place where they sell aftermarket parts for most bikes. He said for rtr there are no aftermarket levers :/ Other levers may not fit because the position of mounting point of the lever (where the nut goes in) with respect to the point of contact with the plunger of the master cylinder may differ. We will know for sure only by trying it out :O So for now, I made up my mind to be satisfied with the stock silver finished levers itself which look better than stock levers of most other bikes :P

Almost 15k. Going good, head leaks now and then after some ripping
Repaired the rear left suspension (Rs400) after the seal broke during the Gangotri trip.

My stock plug was UR5DDC. Which bike is this UR3DDC for? This is a TVS plug in TVS package made by Bosch.
