Dude, I humbly request you to keep away from our thread. Don't try to force your opinions on others and don't take pride in being suspended repeatedly. We are a bunch of much experienced riders here, with more than 10 years of legal riding experience. We know our machines well, its limitations and capabilities. We don't need your advice. ThanksOriginally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostLast edited by sambit; 04-06-2014, 12:22 AM.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Sambit with CBR, RTR & Signature line,
uff! I am envy . >
How you adjust yourself for both?
Do you love riding RTR after riding CBR for 500 km ? Out of Curiosity
Or you use RTR just for City ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Let me tell you a secret, after riding the RTR for more than 50k kms, no other bike is as involving as the RTR(except duke ofcource). Had I bought a Duke 390, would have sold my RTR. But I am waiting for the Bajaj ASC issues to be sorted out before I buy it. More over the svc is 30 kms from my home. And CBR is damn smooth, great component quality. But only fun on highways. Strict no for city. RTR still rules in cities. If you ask me, I would recomend you D390 over others as the best upgrade from RTR. Adarsh has taken the right decision.Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostSambit with CBR, RTR & Signature line,

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I know its a bit off topic, but my second bike was rtr 160 FI, it was awesome, until FI started messing up. Then I drove 180 and found that with greater power comes greater vibrations
Did anyone else notice that? IMHO the company messed it up a bit with the 180.
so I ended up with a different bike now...

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
IIRC, RTR FI was smoother than the carbed ones. I have a 160 carb, I found some 180s which had lesser vibes than mine and some had more vibes. Even among 160s, I have found this difference. I think it all boils down to the oil used, run in technique, how lucky you are etc. One thing's for sure, no RTR is vibe free

I was much worried about vibes until i bought the RTR and it was a concern which was stopping me from buying it. Now, I love the vibesOriginally posted by pcgamer View PostIIRC, RTR FI was smoother than the carbed ones. Vibes in the RTRs vary from bike to bike

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
yes an ill Maintained RTR can kill you with its vibs. Had faced the issue at around 45K kms odo. But head cleaning/decarb solved the issue. Other than that, never faced the unbearable vibes. The problem lies with the stupid ASC. They never know the cause of anything. Luckily, I had a great mech, who took care of my bike.Originally posted by Krishna Gopal Das View PostI know its a bit off topic, but my second bike was rtr 160 FI, it was awesome, until FI started messing up. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Dear Friends,
Yesterday, my new RTR 180 reached my homely parking spot where my Hero Honda Splendor once stood
The ride from the showroom to my residence, in the Mumbai traffic, didn't allow me to exercise the full potential of the bike. Which brings me to this:Should I run in the machine as per the manual? Or should I ride hard?

Run it in as per the manual. Why take the risk?Originally posted by Chetas Das View PostDear Friends,

K&n for apache rtr 180
Hello all,
As my bike is about to complete 2 years and 6500km I am planning to get a k&n filter installed. Can you guys please tell me the pros and cons of using it. I dont want to upjet the carb. Just that being a bit childish I like the voice note a k&n gives
Can you also throw some light on the benefits of k&n from the stock filter without upjetting the carb. Thanks
