I have seen Vertigo & its only meant for Off Roading (somwhow), I am not going to do high speed off roading, but it should be easy to go through in muddy or off roading conditions...

I have heard Dual Purpose Tyre, can any one give me any exmpple about it ?

Also I have seen Sirac tyres .. hows it ? ok for LEH ?

Although scrubbed it for 1 hour with sand paper, hope it sticks for atleast few weeks.
Abhishekch has got his exhaust powder coated last year and its still looks good, hoping to get something permanent soon.

Took just 10 minutes by the mechanic to get it fixed. Rode it for 5kms just to get the feel of it, the sound is not loud (for me), below 4k rpm, I don't think anyone would make any difference between a thumper and this rtr. The only negative is that the belly pan is touching the pipe, so will remove the belly pan or twist it a little accordingly by evening.

@Prateek, @Shahbaz and others: How do you guys with white RTRs manage to avoid 'drag marks' [or what ever they are] at the two sides of the tank where you hug with your thighs?
I'm pissed off at these marks on either sides.

Actually, I keep on polishing ma "Savage Beast" every week.. its so irritating, even if I keep ma tank bag it gets yellowish dirty mark on tank

Can't do anything ... as you know white need special care and attention :|

I'm sure you would have experienced both during your Leh trip.
If its really good, then I too would like to go for it. I thought of going for Michellin sirac for rear. front tires is definitely zap-fs.
It's quite better in the wet but can't expect too much. It's a lot better in the dry than the stock.

It happens on the black rtr's as well. I apply 2 layers of wax after every wash. It does make a bit difference but I have to do it every week.

Hmm. Yep. I wash my beast every Sunday and dust it off before riding it so that the dust is gone and there is nothing to grind against the tank surface when hugging with thighs. Will try and polish it on Sundays. Thank you for the tip.

ODO : 1650 Km

I just cleaned and lubed chain my first DIY !

Now chain freeness increased like 20% ,

As because WD-40 is a contravercial topic to clean Oring chain, I used kerocene to clean, Used brush and rag cloth to clean up the dirt and of the chain.

Do we need to avoid hard brushing or avoid certain points in chain while cleaning with brush ??

If I clean mychain very much or say hardly is there any probs ? because I've heard there are enclosed lubs inside o ring so try not to do harsh cleaning with chain !!

I did lubed both side and center of chain with TVS True spray (Next time I'll buy Motul) 3 coats.

TVS True spray costs 135 per 100ml bottle.

I feel a good diffrence in freeplay and I never thought cleaning and lubing will improve freeness this much.

Sorry for the noob quest I'm just new to this field and I enjoy doing DIYs .

Good Eve guys.

evyavan : I knew that I need to compromise on marks and scratches when I brought this color, so me too wash it every week and avoid harsh fabric trousers.
Albert : Anything in excess is bad. Cleaning and lubing depends on the way and how you ride, IMO gap of 500kms is ok and little less during rains.

I guess there is no other option left other than polishing regularly as I'm a jeans only man. Do not have cotton trousers.

What details bhai?
RTR might feel choked at higher altitude, so what I did was I increased the idle rpm to 2-2.5k, and rest all went fine.

Bike will feel under powered. Don't worry. Get it tuned from Leh. Respect nature, be very very humble in front of its power. Enjoy and experience to the max. Also, "people will try to frighten you, but there is nothing to be afraid of".

Raceconcepts exhaust, 2nd lot without db killer, previously used by xbhp member Biraj. He was done with the sound as he tours a lot and constant sound started irritating him, so I got it from him.
Mileage, expecting a drop though, but I hope it wont be anything drastic.
