My problem is solved. The ignition wire was the culprit. Changed it.
Now the funny part...Bike was getting serious jerks at lower RPMs since last some of days... The mechanic removed the choke cable.
Yes... the choke cable permanently, and the bike is back to its smooth self.... When I asked him,"wont it be a problem in future??", he replied "You havnt used the choke since last 3 years(hence its jammed), and U wont need it for next 3 as well "
. Seriously??
So friends,I found Another culprit for our ever friendly jerks...... The CHOKE Cable.
Just get rid of it, If you dont stay in cold region.
@sahbaz: Why the special treatment for you only from TVS?? You bought some of their stakes or what??. :PHH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

Even during my service too they told that my diaphragm needs to be replaced ,,,they told its around 350 rs...they showed me the diaphragm,,,it was not ruptured or anything but it had lost its elasticity.Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostMy bike's carb. diaphragm was replaced..The main symptom was, the bike would not cross 82kmph even with full throttle..It costed Rs 630.00 for the replacement. The mech. told me it got ruptured due to uneven flow of air to the carb.
What problem(s) are you facing.?
I have completed 15400 kms on my RTR 180.
They have told me to replace it during my next service.
They have also told me to replace the chain and sprocket assembly as I had complained during the last service that the chain is making too much of noise and is becoming loose frequently.
Please suggest what to do ..should i listen to the SVC and replace both as I have completed 15000 kms on my RTR 180.
Thanks in advance.

My bike's diaphragm had to be changed due to ill-fitted race filters which ruptured the diaphragm.. Get the carb. cleaned first & change the diaphragm during the next service..
The chain n sprocket tend to go weak after 13-14 k km..The SVC mechanic told me to change the set at the 15k mark.It costs Rs1175. Get it done during service..

But in my case the diaphragm is not ruptured or anything,,,
What are the symptoms of a improper functioning diaphragm ?
Ya I agree I had jerks at low RPM which made like the bike is going to switch of anytime bt is this due to the damaged diaphragm ?
The SVC mechanic had told me that due to the damaged diaphragm the bike will loose on power when accelerating initially and the pick up of the bike will suffer , I don't know how much of this is correct, but after he told that I feel like I'm certainly loosing on pick up..
How to make sure don't know ?
Ya I will definitely change the chain sprocket assembly at next service

hey guys,
how much should i expect for a 4 year old RTR Fi. About 25k kms done.
thanks.
PS:- posting it here since the Fi thread is virtually dead now.If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough - Albert Einstein
I think i know less than what you think i know.

I dont think it will fetch more than 35-38K as Fi is no longer in production. If you are able to sell it for more, you would be extremely lucky. I inquired last month,my 3 years(40 K kms) old RTR 180 is fetching 43K. Well I didnt sell, coz I wasnt intending to sell actuallyOriginally posted by gautam_k View Posthey guys,

FI is in demand atleast in Bangalore, you should get a good price(>40k)Originally posted by gautam_k View Posthey guys,

That is the catch, demand for FI is more than carb versions of 160, if its a carb only yellow bikes are preferred.Originally posted by sambit View PostI dont think it will fetch more than 35-38K as Fi is no longer in production.
Drum brake model black, gray are not hot now. Only FIs & ABS versions of RTRs will fetch you good money.site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

Changed my airfilter from stock to that of GS150R @ 30k kms.
Sound has some noticeable change @ low rpms.
I'm not sure if there is a difference in pickup because of this or not, there is a definite increase in pickup but it might also be due to the servicing...Apache 180
