Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Nope. That would be messing around with the handling of the bike directly! Big no. But if you really wanna give it a go, the p135 or 125st huggers have one hugger attached in that fashion. That would be the place to start.Originally posted by jsg View Post

Bro, i don't have much knowledge on this tooOriginally posted by A4D View PostHello people i have a RTR 180 done around 25000kms my cylinder head has some leaking and for that i need to open it. I was thinking i should go for decarb too as my bikes cylinder head is any ways going to be opened, needed tips on how to decarb the engine and anything else that one should do.
but, will share what I've known. Please correct me if wrong, anyone.
Confirm if this leak could be stopped without opening the engine head (the upper half part of the engine). If at all the engine needs to be opened, then go for decarb too. But make sure they do the job in the best possible way. You should check for leaks after that.
@All: Decarbonise the cylinder head/piston ONLY if it needs to be done, high time. Some signs are very very poor pickup, engine rpm going up and down significantly. Improper handling of this job would cause the engine head to leak oil for sure which will be a real head ache. Also, not sure if the repacking could match the original factory fitted one.The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

If the leakage is just from the cylinder head, then its not a big problem might be the O rings for the tappet cover have weared out.Originally posted by Rtrlover83 View PostBro, i don't have much knowledge on this too

My bike's switch is back to normal, din't do any thing with it,now it started to turn OFF the engine as normal..Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostGuys Remember is your bike is not older then 1 a year you can change your Swtich assembly under warranty ... YES YOU CAN .. I"ve done ...
adding WD40 is solution only if Water is the problem & it licks black color liquid too on your scoop better tell them directly that "You've tried cleaning it adding WD 40 & all thrice or may be more then that but still it's not working as it should be" .. That's it.

As Rtrlover said, consider if you need to really open the engine. In case you are opening the block, in addition to what he mentioned, check for your piston seating too. In most cases, the 'leak' is just superficial and the wrong seating will be the culprit.Originally posted by A4D View PostHello people i have a RTR 180 done around 25000kms my cylinder head has some leaking and for that i need to open it. And go for decarbonisation only if you have problems like bad mileage, stalling, misfiring, early blackening of oil etc and when other solutionss like carb cleaning, oil/oil filter change, spark plug cleaning/replacement are not working.
Regarding Decarbonsing, either you can scrap the deposits or the best way is to add decarbonsier flushers and clean the engine properly.
I dint mean fitting the hugger on to the axleOriginally posted by madhav766 View PostNope. That would be messing around with the handling of the bike directly! Big no. I meant it as an extension. Anyways going to try with the Honda Stunner Rear Hugger.
If you really want to know, disconnect the battery [MUST], remove the two screws under the right cluster set and open it. Some dirt/insect/deposits will be causing the issue.Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostMy bike's switch is back to normal, din't do any thing with it,now it started to turn OFF the engine as normal..

The bike is under warranty for 24 months OR 30,000km( whichever completes earlier) & the manufacturer decides IF the component will be replaced under warranty (IF it is a manufacturing fault) OR else you will have to pay..

The tappets can be tightened..The vibrations & the sound will decrease.. An overall servicing & tightening of all nuts will further reduce the vibes.Using Fully synthetic oil will decrease the vibrations more..Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Postthanks................. about bike vibrations??? also i hear loud tappet sounds...also vibrations sounds at 9K RPM from the fairing and the silencer??
A race filter has reduced the vibrations on my bike.. & I read in a post, that the choke cable causes the unwanted vibrations..

Thank you very much i will go and check it Tommorow once i go to the mechanic. I have seen many videos where people have used some sort of liquid on the piston head and the results were wonderful.Originally posted by Rtrlover83 View PostBro, i don't have much knowledge on this too

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Check your user manual. Everything that has to be done will be there. Make sure you get all of it done regardless of what svc people say. Also, Id you have any particular problems, get those fixed.Originally posted by Satishrajdev View PostGuys Need help !! Going for 1st servicing this Saturday..
