Did you drop your bike to the right ? Rear brake lever has shifted up a lil bit perhaps. get it adjusted @SVC.
Sometimes throttle is needed in mornings, no problem in using it though.

      • Hope there is no internal injuries.....
BTW TVS tyres are worst for wet surfaces. Rather use engine braking in these situations

If I may interject, it was the combination of bad grip from TVS tires and rider's wrong riding technique.

Instead of using the brake lever and the clutch lever pulled in (every Indian does this), you should have used the throttle.

Let me explain, you're approaching a 90 degree turn at 60 kmph in 5th gear. You brake well in advance and come to 30 kmph in 3rd gear. At this speed:gear, you'll have enough engine braking to see you through. Now, you approach the turn without holding the clutch. You may slightly tap the rear brake to slow down further though. (no front brakes!)

With what you explained, it seems you braked while leaned over and no tire can save you there bro.

Nope. There are no internal injuries. We both didn't hit anything hard. Just scrapes. Also the beast has scrape marks on left indicator, visor and rvm. The scrape marks on the visor is right above the left 'eye'.

I don't do this. And I didn't do this in the morning. I have had fair share of bad experiences while learning to ride, doing this exact same practise and from then I've improved and for sometime I'm using the progressive braking technique. The only thing which I didn't do was to open the throttle to fly out of the curve. There was water and some silt, from the surroundings, on the road. It's a bund road, across a lagoon.

I didn't lean over. See, my younger brother was with me and when he is with me I don't lean over in curves. I would rather slow down and get through nicely.

I guess there was absolutely no brakes applied as I was about to open the throttle. It all happened all of a sudden. I didn't anticipate it to happen there at that speed and lean angle.

              • The funny side: Yesterday I had washed my beast thoroughly. After a long run this morning, through a wet road, bike looks like it's not been washed in months. Plight of white beasts! Have to be washed regularly.

                • Hey guys I think the disc brake fluid is almost dried out..I can't see anything in the marker...
I have no idea when it happened..It feels so it has been for a few days, but I didn't feel any drop in the braking performance..
What are the cons of applying brakes with NILL brake fluid??
                  Will it effect disc pads??
By the way mine is dual disc..
The problem is I wont get time to get it refilled for a few days..Will do it urgently only if its a concern for my safety...

                  • @Rtrlover83: Dude, you were right. While trying out the mileage run I kept the bike below 6k rpm for 128.8 kms, although it went up at some stretches, but for considerably low periods. I had filled 2.80 ltrs of petrol 8.8 kms after resetting trip meter. That means I got a mileage of 46 kmpl.

I guess keeping the rpms below 6k is the key to good mileage?

Bro, it mainly happened due to loss of traction at rear tyre because the throttle was closed. At any turn never close throttle fully.
Whenever throttle is open even slightly, it will push the rear tyre onto the ground thus increasing traction.

No brake fluid = no brakes.

If your braking is good, probably your brake fluid is colourless

Sure it is. And that's a good figure you got there

                              • Dont blame the tires, just be more cautious next time. Cornering on wet surfaces can be dangerous if not done cautiously, I'm running a rear tire at front, and today it was raining in the morning, I was riding to college with my usual pillion, and there a 'S' corner on the way, I like it cause both the corners are spaced equally and you can really lean into it, first sharp right side corner and then a sharper left side corner. And just like always I entered the corner at 80k, and I felt I was taking a more aggressive angle than usual, but mid corner the pillion started calling out and said the metal rails on the divider are getting closer by the second, and only then I understood that the front was actually slipping and bringing our heads closer to the rails on the divider, luckily maneuvered in time and no one was hurt. Oh, and btw am running on Michelin Sirac Street at front.

WHY DID YOU CLOSE THE THROTTLE??? :O

Read my signature for a better idea about throttle control while cornering. Ride safe bro,
