Was down for two days coz of health. Anyways, Read your FAQs for RTR owners, and thank you for the information! I see that when it comes to headlamps you have given that for old RTR you need to convert to all DC setup. I'm not familiar with electrical statements and terms, but I see in my owners' manual that type is '3 phase Alternator' and from this I assume it's still AC and I need to convert to full DC before I can try on HIDs. Would like to hear more about this. I also had been searching about HIDs, but I think I would have someone else do it than attempting to mess it up myself. :POriginally posted by prateek2210 View PostRegarding bulbs refer to my signature

The new RTRs are DC but it still wont be able to sustain more than 35w HIDs, you need to get rewinding done.Originally posted by evyavan View PostWas down for two days coz of health. I thought 12V, 9.0Ah battery could support HID. Anyways, I'ld like to know the following as I am a layman on this (and most other topicsOriginally posted by prateek2210 View PostThe new RTRs are DC but it still wont be able to sustain more than 35w HIDs, you need to get rewinding done.

).
1. Which mfnr do you endorse for HID + projector setup.
2. How much would it cost me, approx, to get this done? Do I have to go for Ape RR since I don't have to do DC conversion?
3. Will introducing this to a stock bike void warranty?

No I dont feel, it hampers the chain sprocket's life. All is normal in my bike. have changed chain sprocket twice till now, at around every 20K. I had changed my tires when my ODO was 24K. now its 44K.Originally posted by kantu View PostHmm how many KMS have you clocked with 120 ? After I upped rear tire from 100 to 110(RTR 160 come with 100/90) chains & sprockets wore out quickly, may be because of heavier tires. Am still running on them will change back to 100/90 profile this summer. After doing lots of naughty stuff I came to one conclusion Stay stock stay sexy !
Yup, At Buxibazaar. It was Rs 2.8K then. Now it is above 3K(with fitting).Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostHi Sambit bhai, IRC available in CTC/BBSR, could you please share some details?

1. Philips have HID , quite pricey though. Chinese HID and Projector setup can be bought in 2-3k easily. I prefer a 35w HID with Pulsar's Projector or if you have the money Skoda Octavia's projector.Originally posted by evyavan View Post1. Which mfnr do you endorse for HID + projector setup.

2. Here in Delhi it costs 3k + 1k(max) fitting charges. The RR unit would be the same but the rewinding of the coil needs to be done.
3. Any electrical changes TVS are more than happy to void your warranty.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Weird, funny, strange, pissing off things happen to my bike..
1.Engine oil started leaking from the 3 way metal tube (as in pic)..
Was wondering what could have caused this leak.?Component to be replaced or "re-threading".??
2.Rode back home from college, some 70km..Found the indicator in this condition & the screw missing..I guess the screw fell off due to the vibrations..
3.The nut used for chain adjustment was standing on its last thread, ready to fall out, a few days back..
PS; need to check all nuts & screws before a ride, they tend to fall off...

Loosing or almost loosing screws and nuts have been common for me from the beginning. Thankfully I've been able to source/get them all. So now its a practise to check all screws, bolts, nuts and even try tightening those at critical parts....Originally posted by vivekgautams View Post

reg oil leak on the oil lines, check the bolt at the top (where it goes into the cylinder head). Take to a workshop and check it and add a fiber washer/spacer if required.Last edited by lijok; 02-01-2013, 11:59 AM.
