    • 1.My headlight set up got many scratches.Seriously considering plonking fz16 or duke's headlight assembly.Any other options?
2.I don't want to lose the existing projector+angel eyes, will be putting in an ordinary osarm 35w bulb(white) for time being. Is this possible to plonk it into fz/duke head?
3.fz is direct fit?Which is easy to fit?Which will look better?
      4.Speedometer assembly,won't have to be removed,right?
      5.Any disadvantages?

        1. Pulsar Classic's round dome headlight.
        2. Yes its possible.
3.Any thing that's not built originally for the same bike would require some bolts and hammer.
        4. It can stay, you need to hide the wires though.
        5. Nothing as such...

        • Yes, agree with Pratheek. One of my friend has got a Pulsar Classic's round dome on his RTR 160. The bike looks a lot more 'rat-ish'.

I'm facing the same, there is some sort of fork play. After my last crash I got my bike this Friday and have been noticing it sine then.
The front suspension has too much of action

Could you people please explain what are the symptoms you see? I think my handlebars kind of jumps. I thought the road condition is to be blamed. But then noticed that it kind of jumps I'm most surfaces.

                • 1) Handle Jumps
                  2) Front Wheel wobbles vertically like em going through minorhpahtoles, after leaving both hands.
                  3) Whenever front suspension comes in pitcure I feel Handle going bit ahead .. when braking or going through path holes.

I guess I need to go for alignment as the handle seems to wobble and pull left a bit when both hands are off the handles. It's ok to visit any svc than your dealer for these tasks, right? Also could you please explain what are tappet noice? I think I hear some metal grinding sounds from my engine. Also there seems to be a hustled vibrating noise when the bike is ridden for some time in high speeds.

                    • jerking problems and misfiring sounds from silencer

It has been happening for sometime now during cold starts of the bike. I take care to warm up the engine for a couple of minutes before takind it for the ride.

But initially the throttle response is very bad especially in the first gear. The free revving nature is completely not there. It vanishes after switch to 3rd gear. But in 1st and 2nd gear it feels as if fuel is not being injected though i roll on the throttle and the bike jerks due to loss in power. Also when i brake and downshift misfiring sounds come from silencer.

These issues and misfiring sounds vanishes after riding for five minutes. I informed about this problem to the SVC guys durin last service , but they didnt fix it properly. Please help me guys.

                      • Hi All,

I am planning to purchase the new apache 160. kindly suggest me where should i purchase it from ? i stay in bangalore near whitefield.
Also looking at the problems above faced by apache customers, is it wise to purchase apache 160 ?
if not, which other bike would you recommend in 150-160 cc segment. Please help.

                        Thanks

Apache 160 is really good bet, second option is Honda unicorn. Problems are there in every bike, with 160 you get gud pick up, mileage, power. With unicorn you get a standard 50mileage and smooth but the riding position or the looks, power and all will be dominated by 160.
With unicorn, pulsar, or anything other bike in 150-160 range you will be bored after an year, pulsar will be bored of you after two years.
I was in your situation two years back, thats when I went with 180 and a friend went with 160 black too him I suggested the unicorn, but he went ahead with rtr160 and He loves it a lot...

My friend rips his bike crazy and he gets 45+. I get around 35(insane riding)
Ankur, im not going to push you to buy rtr but I'm surely going to push you not to buy fz, according to me fz does have the looks but gud for nothing.
See lets say rtr 160, unicorn, pulsar 150/180, fz

                              Performance: rtr
                              Looks: rtr, fz
                              Pull: rtr
Mileage, all of them with 2-3 km difference
                              Upgradable: rtr, fz
                              What you personally like: rtr

You must go with rtr coz you will not change rtr till the next 5 years and rtr will continue to treat gud even after that.
If you will change the ride after 2 years, still you go with rtr coz you will enjoy all the 2 years and gud resale too

Problems? Yes, there are some problems. But, strictly speaking, the problems are directly proportional to the way we care for the bike. BTW, honestly I am one happy rider, but not one thorough carer. Such combinations are very error prone. Anyways, little issues kept for long will result in disaster and I'm gonna find some answers tomorrow, from the SVC.
