Have you tried tightening the screw on the clutch lever..??Some time it gets loose & the lever starts to bend down..
The neutral may be due to engine oil condition..

      Engine oil+filter changed recently.
No will try tightening the screw.

After an oil change, I have to search for neutral many time & few times get a false neutral between gears. This happens when the oil is new or when the oil starts to loose it lube properties..

Or may be like someone told earlier in this thread, the clutch freeplay isn't proper.

          • After 19k km of hard acceleration & very hard braking.. I was just checking the service bills & I realize that the brake fluid & front fork oil have not been changed..
Should these fluids be changed after a certain interval..?? I'v noticed that TVS SVC don't change the spark plug at 12k km even when it stated in the manual..Is it the same case with the brake & fork oil??
When is the right time to change the brake pads.. When the mechanic confirms it is worn out OR when the brakes tend to weak n the lever turning spongy..??

If the bike was given for service..The clutch free-ply would be checked & adjusted..

Usually at the SVC where I go, they wont replace anything until they feel its worn out. Many a times I have told them to replace front fork oils, instead they just top it up.

Regarding DOT3 fluid, no need to replace them top up will do as they last for a long time. Whenever I feel the lack of bite in brakes I get the brake pads cleaned/scrubbed and if it still persists I will get them replaced, and I also noticed that it does feel spongy at the end.

                • Well after many thousands visit at svc about wobbling today open up my handle bar & did it by myself ... now no wobbling... just 1 hour work & Its working fine, but borken some cover our barring or something .... but happy with bike now,

Another thing is front wheel seems to be slightly left from front, so by hitting it twice or thrice i"ve bought in on center, anything need to be done now ? wheel alignment needed, do I need to remove my tyre for that work ?

                  • Hey guys, I'm not sure whether it is a happy or sad news. I sold my White Menace and upgraded to a CBR250 on Friday I just needed that extra straight line and cruising speed for my kind of touring!

I rode and enjoyed it for close to 35400 kms and cherish each metre of it! I just have one tip : Dont worry about the issues with the bike. Regardless of how much you rough-up the bike, it can still run trouble free for many many thousand kms!

Here goes the last pic from my end!

Have fun with all your menaces people!

                      • “Regarding HS1 and H4, the only difference is the that H4 has a roundish base, but HS1 has a third notches. In India, we call them H4. You go to a local automotive store and ask for HS1, he would probably have no clue of what you are talking about. Ask for 55/60w H4 (OSRAM NB, Philips Xtreme Vision all come with notches, but call themselves H4.. so some confusion there)”
I was reading the above in an R15 page, My questions below:

                        1. Is it possible for me to fix a 55/60w H4 (OSRAM NB, Philips Xtreme Vision) on my apache 180?
                        2. Will this ONB or Philips H4 fitting be the same as HS1 (PX43T) bulbs? If not to is there any modification required??
                        3. If I fit it will my bike be able to take the load, let’s say I ride continuously for 4 hours. Could someone tell me the calculations on it
                        4. Will my reflector or wires be damaged?
                        5. Does anyone know how much the costs are or anyone tried this before?

Note: I'm not rewinding the coils or converting it to DC at this point of time due to my financial crisis

I believe the upgrade you made is very good.
It's hard to part with the menace... and you've gone through it.

Nice tip you gave. Happy and safe riding Bro.
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Just a piece of advice: financial crisis->keep the bike bone stock. Don't so much as change a screw.

H4 is a direct fit to the RTR. But 55w will drain power from the battery in ac setup. Your console backlight will flicker, horn won't work, etc. It's a mess. DC conversion is a mandatory requirement.

How much would it cost for the upgrade? And any particular place in Bangalore who specialise in it? Coz the DIY stuff like rewinding and the ape rr seems confusing to me

I heard there's this place on JC road called ruby electrical or something. They'll do it. Cost... I'm not sure. You'll have to ask someone who has done it.
