Normal bulbs.I am using HID, but there is a constant noise from the visor whenever i cross 70km/hr (may be because of ballast)
Done with 8th servicing today (17900 kms). The rubber of the front disc kit assembly had fallen off, had to buy the entire kit INR 465

        • Thank you Prateek.

I am planning for a ride from Bangalore - Mysore (About 300 Kms). I need some information regarding the engine temps, speed etc. . Lets assume my average speed is around 70-80 Kph, do I need to take a small breather for the engine to cool down or things like that? And also some tips would help me. I have done rides before but only around 150 Km max. This would be a longer ride so I just thought I could post it here.

          Thank You.

70-80 is ok....just dont stick to the same speed for longer time (in any case Indian traffic will slow you down ), I remember doing Delhi - Jaipur numerous times on my 125cc with one break of 1 hour.
This being your first...take 2 breaks of smaller time period.....
            Ride safe

P.S : I remember Mysore traffic when I was in Infosys....aah that road to Ooty is a bliss for a biker

            • Went and saw a guy who does repairs, mods for bikes.
He told my ballast is gone, have to confirm it after opening.
Although he is also said that all projector set up use same kind of lights.35w or 55w is still unknown!
Also he told that we can't switch back to stock bulbs with projector set up.Wrong?
Will most probably go for duke's head.Easy to fix with fz 's clamps,he told.
Getting a mileage of 43 currently.Vibrations reduced drastically after changing oil.
Also for painting the rusted exhaust with matt black,300rs(Will it stay?).
"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Kick his rear...if he is so knowledgeable ask him whats the difference between H7 and H4 holder. You can use stock bulb and projector set up.

Only if you do it properly, sand the rust and then use rust-free paint

Ha,in my place most knowledgeable is like that only. But I hope he will do the job well if I purchased the parts and give him.Told me that even in cars same bulbs are used!
Anyway will disassemble and see what exactly I am running with. Will most probably go for duke's head swap.Love that small head. Will transfer the projector set up too.
Now running with the angel eyes light only. For some reason the flickering light for HID is also absent.

                    OMG! OMG! OMFG!!!
Today morning when the bike suddenly stalled when it went to reserve fuel I decided to try clocking the FE like Prateek has mentioned in his FAQ sheet. Set Trip B to 0 and filled with Rs. 100 worth of petrol, ie, 1.43 ltrs, from the nearest station. Now the trip meter is at 25 and at 20 kms the reserve indicator began to blink. WTH? Normally within about 10 kms of the indicator starts blinking the reserve has to be engaged. Does this mean that my beast is a thirsty one? Is there any suggestion from my fellow beast riders?
Anyways, I shall let you know when I get to turn on the reserve. :banghead:

And BTW now I feel my visit the other day to the SVC was a total waste if time and money. Then I had my beast washed up and lubed. But day before yesterday when returning from a movie had to literally paddle through mud and storm water for about a 2 kms stretch. The price for taking a short cut on my pillion's advice. Now the engine guard and rear number plate is smeared in mud and there are mud splattered on engine too. Didn't have time to wash it up as am waist deep in work. Rs. 80 given for washing just drained in rain.

In my bike, the indicator starts blinking when the bike is out of fuel entirely, when in reserve.A fellow xbhpian also confirmed it.
In your case, don't mind the indicator.Just see when it actually goes to reserve. For more accurate mileage measurement fill more petrol.

Mate its a minor issue/fault with the fuel indicator. When i get a full tank of fuel, my fuel indicator reads only 3/4th.

I was thinking in the same line. The indicator gives only near good measurements. Also I want to get the electronics checked out by an expert. This is not the only thing which is bothering me. I'm concerned about the speedo readings too.

Now Trip B at 55 and still on mains. I think earlier it went way over my head. May be a reaction to mixing brands and brews.
