PS - this issue doesn't affect the kick start or any other electricals.

    Any advise?

Check your battery. If no problems check your starter relay. Do you face this after you run for some time? I think it's just the battery. Get an amaron if it's time to replace the stock.

    • Hey guys , following xbhp from a long time . I own a RTR 160 HE - Green , covered 8000Kms in 6 months . I'm encountering left shoulder blade pain for a 20 mins ride.
Told the TVS SVC , he said that the fork is tight and he loosened it , but no use.
Not sure if this is the right place to post the query. I'm a road-lover , but due to the pain i'm not able to go for long rides , i've done couple of 400Km rides with the pain.....
Any of u encountered this problem?. Please Help.
      Thanks in advance

      • Fixed the brake problem, the mechanic told me that the installation wasn't done properly and hence it had air trapped inside. Also changed from DOT3 to DOT4. BTW, is there any tut/vid on how to adjust the brake play?

I dont think you can adjust the 'play' of a hydraulic brake, unless you have a adjustable brake lever or something.

Have you got the handlebars set forward by any chance? If that's the case, get it reset to the default position. Also, try to sit in a way that reduces the load on your wrists and shoulders.

May be refer to the manual where it states riding position. They recommend a specific posture while riding and this posture reduces stress on shoulders and wrists.

                • Hi All,

Got my new apache 160 rear disc yesterday.
But i hear a tuk tuk noise coming from somewhere near the engine when i decelerate. It seems the chain is touching some part of the bike but when i checked by putting the bike to main stand i could not make it from where the noise actually came from.
Is it normal in a new bike and should i report the problem during 1st servicing or should i see the service center immediately ??

                  Thanks

                    Is it from the silencer?
I really doubt chain getting loose so fast.
I would suggest you to pay a visit to SVC ASAP.
Btw which dealer did you buy it from?
Also what was the on-road price?

Brother, I have a query here, at what speeds do you normally ride? I believe I'm getting a very mileage now. May be riding style has to do something here? I do rip the bike.

I used to get good mileage when riding home on weekends. Used to fill fuel for 100-200 rs and after a ride of about 100 kms only the tank will switch to reserve. I fear a loss in that rate.

Also today when I took my bike for a spin I noticed that the idle RPM is set to below 1k. I totally believe it was set so by the mech at SVC. There is no way for the needle to turn itself, right? I put it back to 1.4k. Since I don't see much improvement after the last visit to SVC I guess I'll take it back once I've got the current readings for mileage.

I have a noob question here. Why is it that idle RPM must be set to the recommended limit and will it change after a long ride/ after the engine gets warm?

                            Hi Susheel,

The noise is not from silencer, its somewhere from the middle portion of the bike near engine, anyways will get it checked tomorrow.
I bought it from Shree Chakra Motors, Hoodi circle
                            on road price: Rs.84000/-

Well, Vibes are much less during winter. And yes, during summer, it increases like anything. But I am riding a lot now a days, aint facing much. See if your engine oil, oil filter and sparkplug are due for change.
