Dunno about it as the guys at Century TVS & other TVS sales offices said that Red/Yellow has been removed & only black or grey are available as per my knowledge for Previous-gen Apache 160 Hyperedge which also has new gearbox, switch gear, wider rear tires though i just rode the new one only, so dunno about the new models of previous-gen's performance. BTW alot of people say Rear Disc is not essential on 160, what is anyone's views on it as i think Disc brakes are slightly better than drum brakes or are they not worth it in 160Originally posted by Fear_The_White_Menace View PostSaw a WHITE RTR 160 Hyper-Edge the other day!!!!!!!!!
Is it released in White as well?A Bike is as good as it's Rider & Vice-verse. Ride Safe, Ride Happy !!!

guys i am in a serius problem..my gear shifting became very hard and i had to use nbrute force to shift gears so i have my bike for servcing at triton motors bangalore. and today he called me and said that the bill might come upto 11-12 thousand i was shocked.he said that there is something wrong with the clutch he has replace it and he also has to open up the engine to see if the engine has got damaged..if the engine is fine then the bill will come upto 4-5 thousand.are those people fleecing money from me?? also i stay in manipal so my bike is in bangalore i dont use it all so i gave it to my friend.is there is a possibity that he has ridden my bike rashly to screw up my engine??? he claims he hasnt and even i am also not a rash rider. my bike is a 2010 nv model RTR180 so if there is an engine problem will be able to claim insurance or warranty??

No problem. Post it when you get it.Originally posted by adityajohanan View PostI don't have any pics with me right now.
My grandad lives in Mangalore and I live in Hyderabad. I will take pics and post soon. In summer maybe.
Don't bother with the adjustment until you get feeler gauge.Originally posted by adityajohanan View PostI have all the tools except the feeler gauge.
Get the rear disc without a second thought. It helps when ripping. For 2k odd more, it's a killer deal. I own a drum 160 and I regret my choice of drum over disc.Originally posted by aditya_iyer View PostDunno about it as the guys at Century TVS & other TVS sales offices said that Red/Yellow has been removed & only black or grey are available as per my knowledge for Previous-gen Apache 160 Hyperedge which also has new gearbox, switch gear, wider rear tires though i just rode the new one only, so dunno about the new models of previous-gen's performance. Today it rained after a good 4 months in Bangalore (at least in and around my surroundings :P). I was on my way from college to home. The road was just a little damp thats it. On my usual route there is a flyover where we usually ride around 40 - 50KPH for around 5KM. After that part we enter the normal slow moving traffic part. The road was quite greasy here. As soon as I entered that road the rear end lost traction completely :O I was doing just 25 - 30 KPH and my bike is fishtailing OMG. At first I thought it was a puncture, but No. It's our TVS tyres. I had my nuts, heart and everything in my mouth at that moment lol. I don't know if its my riding style or not but just could not ride the bike at all. I was losing traction even under acceleration. My tyres are just 11K KM old. What do you guys say? Should I buy new tyres or should I tweak my riding style?Last edited by Prithvi R; 03-06-2013, 09:16 PM.

I've had this exact same feeling at around same speeds and my a$$ was kissing the road even before I knew it.Originally posted by Prithvi R View PostThe road was quite greasy here. I said then and I'll say it again: I would never trust TVS tires on a wet road. Glad for you that you are alright.

I have the same problem, I'm crazy I know but sometimes enjoy loosing traction on acceleration and doing minor power slides

Try seraching for Keith Code's Twist of the Wrist, you will know where you went wrong.Originally posted by Prithvi R View PostBut I'm not able to understand the fishtailing phase. I was not cornering, I was not braking or anything. I was in a straight line in 3rd gear with very mild throttle. Weird. :/Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

If it was a dry tarmac with no gravel, I wont blame the tyres, btw can you explain the bold partsOriginally posted by adityajohanan View PostOne time, it was a dry road, I cornered really sharp and slept the bike, my front tyre skid. I didn't apply breaks or anything. I shat bricks, luckily for some reason, the bike just got up just before I planted my face in the road, I was around 25 kmph. TVS tyres suck.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world
