Arre bhai, why would I ask Venu or someone else? And why would you lie? I guess you missed the P.S. mentioned there I didn't say that you can evade the cams. What I said is how does that matter whether you clock 49 in 1st gear or on top?

BTW, how do you guys survive with a limit of 35kmph? I seriously can't.

              • Hi,

                I am from Bangalore.

I have a TVS Apache RTR 180 which has done 13k kms till date and is due for its 6th paid service on Aug 24th. Till now I have never used any other engine oil other than the TVS TRue4 as suggested by the SVC (Trijal, Whitefield).

At this 6th service I m thinking of changing to a better engine oil than TVS True4.

Please guys suggest the best engine oil which would be best for the bike now as it has completed 13k kms and the cost for the same.

                Thanks in advance

                Regards,
                Sujith

Preferably switch to a semi synthetic oil(Castrol power 1) then switch to Full Synthetic Oils(Motul). Shell Synthetic oil is not a true Full Synthetic oil and I have used it for 8k kms. Even though i didnt rip it didnt last long, it lost its charm after 3.5k kms both times.
FYI when you use Full synthetic oil reaching that magic no (12k rpm) on tacho becomes difficult.
Go back in this thread you will find this topic discussed extensively.

As you've clocked enough miles, my pick for you would be Motul 3100 Gold 10W40 or Shell Advance AX7 10W40. Both would cost 300-350INR and are semi-synthetic engine oils.
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

If you plan to buy any oil (any product) from J.C road you better learn to differentiate original & counter-fits... look out for castrol counter-fits its is the most common..I think you need to get your bike's engine flushed before shifting to F.S for better performance of oil...

Specify the model please. Afaik, there ain't an oil from Shell costing the amount you've posted.

It's very much OK even if it's not done. And engine flushing has it's own con's as i've read in xBhp itself. Don't remember where though.
