  • True Story there ... met n numbers of moron's in the way everyday .... specially in my City...

    I Didn't even bothered to see them, I just keep on Riding as they are invincible for me

    Once I guy Came to me asking whats your top speed i say Apache can cross 130+ mark & he smiled & said my bike goes to 188 ...wondering ? same was my situation ....

    It was Pulsar NS .... lol

    Once I met one P220 guy he asked me "your bike can give tough to my p220 ?" I said No in Engine Size it wont your is 220cc mine is 180cc but till 0-100 its tough for you too beat me but after that you can easily go past & in City mine will always be ahead..." on this he replied my Bike can outperformed any bike no bike can overtake me its the fastest & to my surprise he said Pick Up of my bike is better then P200 NS by far :O

    • Done with the 4th free servicing of my beast..the work done on it are as follows:
      1) Oil & oil filter changed.
      2) New spark plug
      3) battery holder bracket replaced
      4) convertor cleaned
      5) chain cleaned & lubed.

      Total charges amounted to Rs 814/- which, is two times more than the previous service billing...bike feels crisp & the exhaust roars like never before, the oil had turned black,previous oil change was 1600kms ago, just wanted to know the speed you guys reach in the 1st gear in "rip" mode.
      OBJECTS IN THE MIRROR OF MY BEAST DO NOT APPEAR CLOSE- THEY SIMPLY DISAPPEAR !!!

          Why new spark plugs in 4th service itself??...Did you encounter any specific problem for the same??...You dont have to change spark plugs every now & then..I mean changing every 10k-15k km will be fine...Right now I'm using NGK iridium spark plugs...Its pretty crisp after the change...

            44!!!..wow man...did your beast reach that speed effortlessly?without crying?didnt you find it rough after 17-18??..i could manage somewhere around 27-30..felt pity for my beast & came back to normalcy.

            Well the stock spark plug got busted inspit of adjusting the gap around a month ago due to which my beast used to developed hiccups & lags..

            in order to prevent it,the spark plug was changed & the convertor(found above the engine head) was cleaned,the convertor helps in keeping the emission norms under check,increases the longevity of the spark plug & reduces carbon deposits on it as well as the engine.

            It seems TVS is the pioneer of this convertor & taking a cue from them even Bajaj& honda have come up with this concept.

            I had a wobbling problem also,which got corrected after tightening the coneset,the ride feels smooth on potholes...was present from start to finish of the event..the noob forgot to close the oil filter cap&started the bike..after that my bike looked like a coke vending machine with the oil spilling out,later he had to do a top up of 200ml...bottomline------happy with the servicing but feeling the pinch because of the hole it burnt in my pocket.

            • Rough means ek dum rough.... i think maine kuch galat dekha hoga but 3o to hotai tna sure hai (without effort) 35 tak bhi jaaati

              44 kiya tha maine i think pata ni if i am right or wrong ...

                Yeah , the moment the speedo touches 18 the engine gets rough/stressed but manages to go on further, at this time if the rpm is observed, it gives a feeling that its eager to rise further, but i have read somewhere that it does go till 40-42 in d 1st gear, & if i am not wrong with a K&N it should touch 40 without much roughness compared to a stock airfilter

                    Good luck..i suggest before tuning, check the spark plug & set the TPS..tuning once gone wrong is very difficult to get back to factory setting.

                    • Just checked out the maximum indicated speed attainable on first gear.
                      Got 49 Km/hr@12,000 revs.

                      Conditions
                      • Odo - 17,400Kms. So, well over proper run-in and so much more riding. Engine oil - Shell Advance Ultra 10W40 FS. Started using FS oils after 10K Kms.

                      • Tire pressure - 25 psi/32 psi (planning to do a pillion ride tomorrow so filled 32 psi rear).

                      • Time - early morning

                      • Warmed up the engine. Rode about 5Kms before the test.


                      Yes, the the engine feels stressed at some point but, it does not just hang in there cryin, instead revs like crazy to hit the limiter, no... the last point on the tacho. Did a couple of runs on an empty road.

                      Won't be testing again as we all know the engine life will be reduced and it's not safe for us and the people around.

                      Bike is bone stock. Glad that even after 30 months, performance has not dropped.

                          Grt work there man You tried this where? I mean seriously...almost everywhere there's a speed tracker camera in tvm
                          Btw, yes it does harm the engine if done several times...I have never gone past 40kmph.

                              10W50 synthetic? Afaik, Shell doesn't sell a W50 grade in India other than for their Advance AX5, which is a premium mineral oil.

                              Btw, if it's the AX5, it is best for your bike as of now. Stick to mineral oils till around 7K Kms.

                                +1. RTR160 does 46 km/h in the 1st cog @ 11.5K RPM(Rev Limiter). So, 180 should do more. Judging by 49 km/h, I'd say the rev limiter in 180 is at 12,250 RPM (Not noticeable as it is beyond the tacho).
