          • Having a problem with my ignition.... Have to turn on on off the ignation for 2/3 times, before the ignitoin and console comes to life.
First it comes to life, the dies before the auto check of console is completed. but after 2/3 times, every thing works just fine for the rest of the day.... what might be the problem?? do i have to replace the ignition?? It happen sometimes.I took it to the service, but it was OK then.

Teflon is a clear coat which protects the paint work..It just prevents light scratches which is caused due to dust settling on the bike & using a rough cloth for whipping/cleaning the bike..

Most of the service centers just rip you off by giving a regular polish and claiming it as teflon. I'd say, don't get it.

That is not a reason not to buy a bike. I am riding this bike and I have no problem with its position, ya I am agree that position is not very comfortable but is not that cumbersome which other guys are saying.
And it has some advantages too which other bikes doesn't have (like better control).
So just forget about this problem.

                        Check battery and ignition coil.

The 'real' teflon coating would require you to pay through cheque or card, they don't do the real coating.

Honestly I never felt any thing such as this in my 30k kms that I have did on my RTR , and most of it was serious off roading and hardcore continuous touring. The only thing I felt was my bums lost the sensation after sometime, and yes I am a slip disc patient. RTR was never responsible for the back pain.

First of all the Apache RTR 180 ABS,is one of the safest bikes one can buy in the market(the next bike is CBR250r, around 80-90k more expensive). The acceleration is excellent. It handles like a knife in city... A decent fuel efficiency of 38-42 kmpl.
For a bike to handling to be so sharp, the front wheel needs a lot of weight..The riding position on the RTR is excellent for racing/city/handling.The RTR is a not built for the highway as it lacks the top end speed, this may worry you more than the seating position.
My worst experience is a ~750km in a single day, with ~300km of terrible roads,at the end of the ride,I had just a wrist ache, that too the right one as I could not leave the throttle .
The riding position is not a worry.Few other things are,like:- the engine is full of vibrations, the bike gets a pair of slick tyres from TVS tyres, bad service from company, high maintenance cost, poor lighting on highways during night..will make you think twice before you buy a RTR 180 ABS.(these problems can be adjusted to & fixed with a few mods/changes later)..

P.S:- The RTR 180 ABS is a good bike BUT the engine is outdated/not well engineered (compared to the current bikes in market i.e,the 2012 bikes).I heard from an Intern at TVS that a 200/220/250 cc RTR is in the pipe-line..
Think hundred times, decide on your needs rather than other's..

                              Hey..
As I said..You have to decide..The RTR 180 ABS is the best for city..Its good for the highway also but it lacks a top speed,so you can cruze at 90's kmph. & it being a air cooled engine, you will have to give the bike a few minutes to cool down( say every 200km).
Other option is Pulsar 200NS. But 200NS's seat height is a bit tall compared to RTR,a bit heavy than RTR..
