Then it might be they close @ 12 in the midnight...Normally pumps in highways will be open throughout night, while within the cities its doubtful....Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostAre you sure they(Shell) are open all night..?? Too much pressure on the forks..e,g : big potholes, off roading etc etcOriginally posted by Prithvi R View PostHas anybody come across any incident where your front fork oil seal had broken? My fork's seal was broken in January and forgot to post it here then. I remembered this when I read Adarsh bro's post regarding the oil seal. Anyway, I got it fixed at the ASC that day itself. Are there any specific reasons for a broken seal or it just happens once in a while?
PS : I have never tried and probably won't try doing a wheelie.

And I am back on saddle
After almost 3 months of using my Bajaj Chetak and asking lifts from my friends for g2gs and travelling in metro I am finally on my RTR. Whole piston block was repaired including timing chain, valve chain, in short it was open heart surgery. Total blow was around 3k INR. What remains is the battery issue as its completely drained out and is asking replacement, will get amaron soon and replace HIDs with Philips Crystal Vision (4300k). And now I am happy bunny , run-in starts againFare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
If you have already bought it then its a good oil just keep a check on oil level as these oils have a tendency to evaporate in our air cooled engines, few people have also reported slight oil leak on using this oil. If you haven't bought it then you can go for Motul 7100 FS or Motul 5100 SS if not Motul then Shell ax7 10W40 is one of the best oils available for RTR.Originally posted by bhargavrama View PostI'm planning to change my oil from TVS Tru4 to motul v300 15w50 FS. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
If you want to stick to stock size, better get the Dazzler's rear tyre (MRF Zapper C), Prithvi here has got it, check the past couple of pages. It will be better than TVS for sure, but may not be exceptional.Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostGuys I need help regarding tyres, what's your suggestion for Rear Tyre?
Other options would be in 120/80-17 like Zapper Vyde (which I got recently, no complaints so far be it wet/dry/gravel) or you can try the tyre which vivekgautams had got (FZ like pattern). If you can get a hold Michelin Sirac at this size, it would be awesome but it will be very very hard to find.
If you dont mind smaller size (100/80 or 100/90), there are many options like Michelin Pilot Sporty, R15 V1's rear tyre etc.Last edited by Adarsh_Bk; 05-06-2013, 01:16 PM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I just clocked 1600 km on ODO ,
First service was on 526 km and at that time I did lubed my chain from SVC, but now I've clocked 1600 on ODO and thinking of lubing own my own.
After a lot of research in xbhp n google I found out how to lube it in proper way DIY, but still I do have some doubts such as
1)What's the preferred or recommended chain cleaning and lubing interval ?
2) I read somewhere that cleaning with WD-40 will damage our O ring chain and it's not suitable !! Should I purchase a spray cleaner(Motul Chain Cleaner = Costlier !) or stick with WD-40 ?
3) Should I buy Motul Chain lube or TVS True Spray ?? Does Motul worth it's price comparing to true spray ?

500-600km or more frequently if you are riding in rains

that's a controversial topic @WD40. You can use kerosene or diesel and a soft brush to clean the chain, but dont 'over do' it. just a bit of kerosene and brush, repeat till entire chain length is covered. Once cleaned, you can your fresh engine oil (20w40/50 or sae 90 gear oil) to lube the chain.

Yes you can use the spray's if your budget permits
they are easier to apply but cost more. TVS true spray is supposed to be good and cheaper than motul. So start with it and move on to motul if you are not satisfied ;-)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Anybody know approx cost of reflector in head light?
Stock head light price?
Also what all changes to convert projector to stock set up?"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr
