Oh. Thanks. I didn't know much about the new colours.
So, now they've shelved all the older dual coloured schemes it seems. The current colour options are similar to the old design 160 Hyper Edge. The only addition is white.

Yes it is.

@pcgamer yes, it seems so. I liked the old black and orange one, fortunately they launched the same color in new model too.
broken87 .. yeah finally :P Bothered you people a lot. Yes I will see about mileage after 1st servicing. Btw I hate driving it at 45 kph when I can easily rip on open road.

Hello everyone. Came from a ride after the holi & noticed that the front brakes felt a bit spongy. I thought it would be the air in the system so brought a bottle of brake fluid (for top up) & bleeded the brakes, still no effect. In the night while parking the bike I saw that the brake lights were taking a bit longer time to go off even after releasing the front brake lever. Next day checked the front brake switch it was fine, tried cleaning the front brake cylinder piston (from outside) but no effect on braking & brake lights. Showed it to my mechanic he told me to replace the 'front brake kit'. I think he is refering to the master cylinder assembly or is it anything else? Guys any idea about this & its cost? Will be going to TVS service tomorrow so thought of asking you guys before hand. I do most of the service myself but can't take a risk with brakes.

Guys am planning to change my sparkplug to NGK iridium. As I searched the ngk website they say CR7EIX is for apache rtr. Wen I tried to buy it online I could only see NGKITA 16 available. And I check the forums and could find only the 160FI guys are using it.
Are both same?? Can v use NGKITA 16 in 180??

I have an Apache rtr 160. which is around 1.5 years old. recently i am having problem with my rear shock absorbs, which is leaking oil. I have checked with the SVC regarding this, they said, the shock absorbs are weak. I asked whether it is replaceable under warranty. They said they can't change, is it true that these part doesn't cover under warranty.

Why do you want to play with the spark plug's heat rating & risk your bike's engine..??
Stick to Bosch R6.. It easily lasts for 10k km & is one fifth the price of NGK Ir plug..

Well did you visit the SVC. What is the price of the setup??

If you are staying in bangalore you can get them from JC road. Dont go for the one mentioned NGKITA 16. Thats mentioned only in planet-dsg & not in NGK website. Seems like planet-dsg are maintaining different product code. Also if buying online you need to shell out and extra 100+ rs again. So I would suggest to buy from a bike shop.
The correct one is CR7EIX. Im currently running on CR8EIX. Its one point colder which will be helpful if you are riding style is always high-revving and you do a lot of long trips. For normal use I would suggest to stick with CR7EIX.

NGK are better than Bosch plugs. Atleast thats what I felt after using both.
But still as you said the price gap is pretty big.
So if the rider is ready to shell out an extra buck then NGK fits the bill.
And again if the bike is ridden sanely and for normal use its always good to stick with Bosch/stock spark-plugs.

It seems me & vivekgautams had already a chat on spark plugs some long time back.

My 1st issue with the APache.

Had bought the bike few days back and have ridden 500 kms now. Today while I was driving, suddenly a strange sound like 'Chuck Chuck Chuck Chuck' started coming from the front area(wheel probably) the frequency of which increase with bike speed. I tried inspecting but no idea whats wrong.

Can someone tell me whats the problem and should I take it to office tomorrow or not?

Dust particle stuck in the disc assembly. Cleaning would help.

It seems that majority of the doubts are asked & answered long time ago..
I haven't tried out the NGK Ir, found it quite expensive.. By the way, how long does the NGK Ir last..?

Bro, I always shift at 6k no matter what & the Bosch plug lasted 10k & even 12k (once )...
As the Bosch plug was not available during my engine head replacement, I had to use a Mica plug which has lasted 8k km without any trouble..

Once I'm richer by 550 rs I will definitely go for the Ir..

Yeah we had already had a talk on this topic.
Well actually you can use till 15k or more. But I normally change in 12k range whatever be the condition.
The thing is its always good to change spark plugs every 10k no matter whichever brand.
Thats good for the engine in long run as too much of carbon deposits wont be there & your bike will remain healthy.

Well its spark delivery thats really good in NGK. The throttle response will be super with no delays and will be more crisp, I mean the power delivery will be more kind of smooth. I dont know exactly how to say but you will find the difference once you use it. The better the spark, the better the combustion, the lesser the waste or carbon deposit. It also aids in giving a better performance especially in long trips and you can get the a better mileage figure based on your riding style. I know these points are debatable but let me tell you Im not exxagerating on anything. If your stock engine max gives you 'X' performance, NGK will help in getting that max or nearby 'X' value. So the point is you will get what your supposed to get, nothing more nothing less.

Let me tell you, Im not rich & Im married & recently I became a father too and now the expenses are sky rocketing.
But when it comes to taking care of my bike I never compromise.
