        • Today went to SVC to replace the spark plug. The replaced/stock Bosch one's tip is dry black in color. This means a rich a/f mixture/high carbon deposition situation right? Now, can i tune the Carb myself to get good combustion (no clue how to do it right) or is it better to go to the SVC?

The FE lately is 39-40km/litre. I don't feel any thing wrong with pick up either in low or high rev range

Btw, the new one plonked in is NGK CR7EIX. Will post the review shortly

Dry black color is good, depending on how you ride it.That is, if it's within city, mostly in mid-range revs max, then it's fine.so don't do anything to the carb setting now.Try the iridium plug and then check the color of it.Get a 16mm ring spanner,so that you can check the plug yourself whenever you want to.

Sorry bro,i was busy with festivals since yesterday evening

No need to be alarmed about the noise,it seems to be tappet noise from what you're saying as it seems to disappear after the oil is circulating.
Ride your ride with motul or gulf 20W40 for at least till 7.5k to 10k kms and then you can think of SS.

                  • Guys, i gave my bike to TVS SVC on last saturday and they returned it yesterday saying they changed the carburettor, clutch and some more things(i could not talk to the mechanic, so dont know exactly what was changed)
The jerking problem which i had was gone, but my bike is not crossing 6k rpm @ 5th gear... even to reach 5.5k rpm its taking a LOT of time, but when i tried to rip it in the first few gears it was possible, can someone tell me what was the problem, please

                        • Crash!

Yesterday while returning from the Eid prayers in the morning, this dips#it 'doodh waala' came out of nowhere and BAM! hit me from the right on my just one month old dear RTR ABS

The damage so far is a cracked fiber panel on the right and some scratches on the engine. Thankfully no one was seriously injured. Here's the visible major damage. The part ain't moving nor creaking at all, but some insight would be welcome.

                          • Fule lid gasket

                            Hi Guys,

Would like to share an incident I experienced a few days back. While filling petrol I noticed that the gasket under the fuel lid had come off and on trying to put it back realized that it had also deformed so it would not fit under the lid anymore. I visited the SVC but he was initially hesitant to replace the lid as it would mean replacing the entire lock set. I then emailed a photo to the SVC as well as TVS. Its commendable that I got a call in 15 mins from TVS and was informed that they would instruct my SVC to contact me in 24 hrs and solve the complaint. Within a few hours got a call from local SVC and he invited me to visit him a let him take a few pics. Next day was informed that I would get a replacement lock set under warranty.
Good to see such prompt response from the service team from TVS.

I do agree that they respond promptly(i got a call within 5 minutes after sending the e-mail) but this promptness is limited only to the higher officials, the mechanics and most svc managers are damn lazy...
