reboring was done because the engine siezed. This time i took my bike

for servicing and only about 100ml of oil drained out. I used to keep a regular check on the oil levels, had stopped doing so in the past 4-5 months because it never showed less. Learned it the hard way.

Since the engine had to be opened anyway, i got it ported. I don't see a problem with that.

Which tuning house did you get it ported from? Also what is the make of FFE you're going to use?
How long do you plan to keep your bike for? Also, are you prepared for the additional maintenance costs that come bundled with hot rodding?

I just wanted to know if its worth it?

Does FFE effect the engine to a great extent on the long run even if we use a good quality FFE?

I think if you set the right AFR then it will be as good as a stock exhaust.

Yes! However good the quality may be.
Picture this - A Honda CBR 1000RR may run for 1L kms without an engine overhaul, but with an Akrapovic exhaust system, it would need a rebuild post 60k kms. That too with an exhaust system specifically built for the bike.
With the FFE on a carb'd bike in India, you cannot keep playing with AFR every time you start the bike.

Anyways, I can say only one thing - Enjoy your hay while the sun shines! (Modified from the actual quote to suit the situation)

I have not installed a FFE yet
I like to do know what im getting into before doing any mod and who else can help me better than our fellow bikers

                        I've decided to stay stock

Hi everyone.. Have done 33k kms till now on the RTR, it was a great experience really, it never let me down on any long rides which was the best part. So many memories with it and this was the bike which taught me to ride! But finally its time to move on & I decided to upgrade from RTR and the only worthy replacement (atleast according to me) is D390. Got it delivered yesterday (Posted first impressions here) and its been fun riding it.

Still have the RTR though, thinking of selling it but its very difficult RTR is still a very good buy even if they didnt upgrade engine in last 5 years Only thing it lacks would be lower speeds in boring 4 lane highways, everything else is good enough.

Anyways, will always be in touch with RTR folks here.. Keep revvin'
                          Ride hard.. Ride safe.. Always!

If it's running without any problem, there's no need. Moreover, you'll need to replace your rear suspension with 180's if you change the swingarm IIRC. Even if you're facing problem, buying a newer, thinner tyre will be cheaper than doing all those modifications.

You're right about RTR. I'll keep it for as long as possible even if I get a new bike. It's a great all rounder. BTW, from which showroom did you get your 390?
