It's BS. NOC should be issued at any time if you have don't have any amount pending with the RTO. I think the guy is trying to make some bucks as usual. I don't see any mention of 18 months in the Motor Vehicle Act.
If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

I don't know any agent personally. But you can usually find agents in front of RTOs, sitting with some application forms etc. Other option is to contact a driving school. They usually get those stuff done for some fees(including the bribe).
An alternative is to park your bike at a friend's/relative's place and to get these things sorted out when you have free time. Selling your beloved bike, esp. such a new one for such a trivial thing is not a justifiable act IMHO.

PS The very last option is to take your bike to Mumbai, ride it there. Whenever you're caught, you should show some toll receipts, ATM slips(issued in KA) etc. and tell them that you're not a permanent resident of Mumbai and visit here every now and then. You may need to ask some of your friends from Karnataka to courier those slips once in a fortnight or so
BTW, how long do you plan to stay in Mumbai?

No problem. If you're a Mumbai native, paying road tax won't be a bad idea as the cops won't really care about the number on the plates as long as you have paid road tax. Good luck!

                        Hey Apachians!,
Got the front fork oil replaced & added a bit of heavy 20w40 oil in both the forks since the suspension was a bot too soft...just wanted to know if anyone from the tribe has done it before to stiffen the forks.

also i have got a new front disc and pads....the problem now is the front disc isn't progressive i.e the squeeze is UNEVEN....want to know if its because of the new disc and pads....or there is something wrong.... P.S the mech did not bleed the brake!

                        AWAITING RESPONSES!

                          Hello Everyone !

I love the bike Apache RTR but i have some points here:-
suggest me which model suit me best 180 or 160 and decent mileage for noida(delhi ncr) region ??

                          Height: 5'3''
                          Weight :56 kg
                          Mileage: 45-50 (avg)
                          Budget: 70-75 k max
                          Looks: sporty ( I'm not a racer)

                          1. I heard that bike has some vibs also grip is not good. Apache Tyre not good, i prefer wide Tyre in rear side.
                          2. I also like R15 but it is too costly main thing it's millage is too less, i am daily office commuter.
                          3. After Apache, Fz may be in the list too which is upcoming one blue look (in auto expo 2014).
                          4. I love white Apache 180 non-abs because in Apache 160 white color black strips don't look good, but mileage is good in 160.
                          5. Black color Apache 160 may be choice after Apache 180 white.

Give me which bike will be best suited for me ??

Considering your height and weight i would suggest you to go with rtr160,since mileage is your concern so it will be better for you in that budget.
Regarding the vibes it mostly arrives due to the compact size and hard compounded tyres from tvs,if you maintain the proper speed and gear ratio i wont think you will come through with vibes atleast im used to it now
Coming to tyres, yes stock tyres losses grip in rain and muds but it performs well in normal conditions. Although front tyre does its duty well you can change the rear tyre with zapper or ceat.
Apache is a great bike dude with lots of features and good speed,fz-s comes first in handling and city rides but its mileage sucks..r15 out of budget so the answer is obvious...
                            Ride safely...cheers!!

                              Thanks Raju567!

Great feedback, Actually budget may not be a problem in case if the bike perform well in my requirement. But the main thing is mileage is too less in R15. I was waiting for Yamaha R125, but it's not launching in India (may be it can give 45 mileage). I will use my bike mostly for going office, I want my bike perform well for 4-5 years. But thanks again.

What mileage RTR 160 will return in normal condition ?

Well, depends on fuel, distance & how much gear changes you do but Company says 55+, i say 45-52 depending on Initial break-in & other factors. You can also check Honda Trigger which is also good on pickup & economy but the waiting period is horrible. The only downside of Apache 160 is when someone sits behind & you notice the slight strain on engine but the more time you spend wid it, the more it will grow on you & problems like vibs, etc seem less.

PS - in case you intend to get the new apache 160 then i strongly recommend getting better headlamp coz the reflector on new one are kinda ok comparably with the old models & i am 5'6 but my 2012 model bike still seem bit heighted & is definitely heavy
