Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Yes, Prateek, I did go through the manual and noticed that there is a table with all the details. But which service center follows that table? i guess none. The moment they hear the word "service" first thing that comes to their mind is "Water wash the vehicle and rip the customer, without even checking the vehicle" :|Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostBefore I answer this, want to ask you a thing.

I still cant forget the horrible experience i had with Anton TVS, Trivandrum Huh!!!
I read in different forums that some service center has the nerve to charge customer for engine oil without changing the oil. If you haven't read from CBR 250R thread, when CBR 250R was launched some of the Honda ASS didn't had oil filter in stock. So, ASS mech said that its not mandatory to change the filter, when the manufacturer has mentioned that filter has to be changed during first service.
I do not want any such incident to happen for my bike.
The reason for me to ask here is to get some knowledge on what is important or, read as, "Mandatory not to skip" so that i can insist/force them to change/check anything specifically.Last edited by swift; 09-07-2013, 03:33 PM.Honda Activa (2011)

You could just force them to do all the work, insist on staying with the bike when it is being done, they will do most of the job in a neat way.
Cheers

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
i was going behind the auto and the auto guy suddenly turned right and BAM there was an apache standing right opposite to me in the MIDDLE (in one way) of the road!. Though i managed to lean/turn right my left indicator is gone !!, plus i'm starting to feel that my 10month old apache 180 abs is losing the grip :/
tldr: accident - left indicator gone !, tyres losing grip.
i've been away too long that i don't understand what i missed, because i don't see people suggesting Apache 180 ABS in what bike section anymore :s to 200ns !Last edited by Shadowknight; 09-10-2013, 06:01 PM.

Re: Where is 2013 facelift version of rtr180
As mentioned it must have broken into pieces.
Btw I personally feel, we don't want anymore cosmetic changes..
Im waiting for a 200cc, 220cc & 250cc from them...
With just 160cc & 180cc they wont get good market.
Its been long time since people are waiting for higher cc from TVS.
Being a part of racing events I feel TVS should have upper hand than Bajaj when coming with higher cc engines.
They too damn slow. Someone must shout the hell or burn a cracker near their ass to wake them up from their shit sleeping.
They must understand that every passing minute is a chance to turn it all around...---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hey guys
I had a query regarding my RTR 160.
My bike is 5 months old and has done 3.8k till now...the timing chain is making noise...the guys at svc say that it needs to be replaced. The thing is I never reved it or went over 45 kmph for the firat 1500 kms and till now I dont red line it(i do it rarely) and I get it serviced on time..i dont know why the timing chain is making noise or is damaged.
Should I get it replaced or get it replaced later as the engine has just done 3.8k kms?
Waiting for your replies
Thanks.

Anyway before doing the same shoot a mail to higher officials about the same.
Anyway your are under warranty period. Lets see what they can do about this.
Change it after that only. Have u changed the tire profiles. Atleast you should maintain the same spec of stocks.
Check the below link for email ids

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Apache breaking going on decreasing..
I had to park my bike under the sun for 2 weeks...Thereafter breaking is steadily decreasing.I have to squeeze more in every occasion. Can dirt be the culprit?"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
You can try pressure wash the brakes to remove the dirt but I don't think that is the problem here. Bleed the brakes, put in fresh DOT 4 oil and Apache's legendary braking should come back.Originally posted by albyjose View PostApache breaking going on decreasing..

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Try Joel's exhaust.. believe me.. now my bike has zero vibes even if I ride at 125+ continuously..Originally posted by Devesh View Postlooks like someone had changed the DNA of my rtr or it may have evolved.
the bike is silky smooth between 4-7 k rpm but vibrates like hell between 7-8 ke and then becomes smooth again till 8.5k after which vibrates till the end.
pick up is as good as new
but the top end has decreased just a little bit.
What might be the cause?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Any modification will cause some strain to stock machine.. we should accept that fact.. having said that, Joel is a very experienced guy.. he tests his products rigorously before selling it.. It is a whole new exhaust system that you'll get and if you have to claim any warranty, you could always fix your stock exhaust . Its a 5 mins job..Originally posted by Devesh View Postthanks buddy

Cost is on higher side.. If you use bike only to commute in city in low speeds and you are not much into ripping/touring.. I suggest, you stick with stock... Otherwise, it is a great buy and you'll never regret one bit for getting this exhaust.. reach Joel on 09886058653 on queries regarding cost please..
