I dont understand what you are trying to say here. I am able to maintain 125+ for long periods and there are no vibes.. In stock machine, I used to get vibes at speeds greater dan 115 kmps due to which we cannot go at that speed for long periods..

I've done 5k+ kms with Joel's ffe and I dont see any reason Y I should read any thread now..

Your excitement will be short lived buddy, if you keep riding the same bike for long. I have done over 30k with the RC exhaust, so let's say i know a bit about it, so just a small advice. And do read the threads buddy, you never know what you might get to learn new :-)

Normally the stock pistons are good enough for 40k~50k max.
Even though there are people who still run with the stocks beyond that.
So even if you are changing get it done in TVS authorized service center because atleast there will be warranty in it.
Also regarding oil leakage cannot be completely because of pistons gone wrong.
So better cross check in more than one place before you shell out the money.
I think vivekgautams had this oil leak issue. He too can help you on this.

Buddy, It would be easier for us to help you, if you could upload photos of the leak. There could be many reasons for the leak. As in my case, the engine was opened during a clutch replacement (under warranty) & the head was completely damaged.
Have you noticed any changes in the performance of your bike?? If not, it could be a simple gasket replacement, etc.

Susheel, I got my bike's oil leak fixed, finally . All credits go to "Authorized" TVS SVC for creating the oil leak & blowing huge holes in my wallet, pocket & bank account..!!
I just spent around 5k to get the leak fixed. When "authorized" TVS SVC told me that engine head needs "re-threading" & new "packing", I used to feel the problem was minor..But the secrecy of SVC arouse a doubt, hence I went to an independent mechanic & got the head disassembled in front of me..
To my amazement, the head was in this pristine condition :-

Now, I'v replaced the head..I was waiting to finish 1000km before I shared my experience with the "authorized" TVS SVC.. But it seems like VinayakVerma needs the feedback now itself..

Bro, Do TVS give warranty for the parts(spares) when the bike is out of warranty.??

Hmm.. Thats the problem..Because of these SVC guyz putting business mind in place of ethics, customers loose their trust.
But then one way is to have friendly link within a SVC center. So that atleast you can trust that person.
Also for these big changes always consult more than one SVC center & analyze what each one diagnoses and say.
We should never mention about so & so SVC said like that and all..
Let then come with a conclusion. After that we can have a better clear picture of the real issue.
BTW which SVC do you service your bike?
And how good is this local mechanic which you found?
Also the location, so that it will be helpful for some including me.

AFAIK there is warranty for the parts you buy even though the service center guys will say no.
To know about the warranty part put a mail to the officials claiming so & so SVC said no warranty for the same.
They will call you back asking you to goto the same SVC & they would have informed those SVC guyz about the same.
It happened to me also. My stock speedo sensor went kaput. I replaced with anew one which ran for some 100km & went kaput again.
I asked SVC guys about warranty. They said no for these small things. Then I mailed the officials about the same & had a talk with them. They informed the very same SVC to get it replaced free of cost. Actually before I filed the complaint I had paid for this. Then when I went back to SVC the manager paid me back.

So the moral of the story is things happen if digged a little more rather than leaving it just like that.
We should leave the 'Chaltha Hey' attitude & be more like 'Poochney Mein Kya Hey'..

its party time
say happy birthday to my rtr. She is 1 yr. old now.

Really a great legendary bike, rock solid engine.

Flies & handles like a sparrow.
Brakes like a veyron.

RTR truly fits over the bike.

Everything about it is lovable from engine to body.
Not spent an extra penny on itwell except those 20 bucks for a gasket

I can understand that the SVC Mechanics cannot deliver their 100% coz of the shear number of bikes/scooty to be "serviced" per day.. BUT my question to SVC would be,"If you can't repair, leave it,why make things worse.? & Why can't you be truthful? "
As you mentioned to take the opinion of a few SVC before judging the problem..I had asked in 3 SVC & two SVC tried their luck on the bike..
The First SVC was Megdooth,Ulsoor, second was Megdooth Cox town(directed me to Ulsoor Megdooth) & finally was SriGiri TVS in Tumkur(KA)..

I went to a Local mechanic in Tumkur(KA) & got everything fixed.. He has done a fantastic job..The bike has become super smooth & super responsive now.. The Mech I went to is a very dedicated guy & did the whole repair work right in front of me & simultaneously taught me a few things..

PS: The mechanic is not "posh" or "hi-fi" but the work is perfectly done.. If you are willing to ride down to Tumkur for repairs or service, I will PM you the contact details..

Oh so the SVC was treating your bike more like a trial-n error testing specimen..
Happy to know its all fine right now for u, thanks to the local mechanic..
BTW Tumkur is almost 80km from my place.
I wish such people are available here to.
The main problem, Im facing is on mileage part. The max I get for my RTR-160 is 40kmpl, that to if i ride sanely(say max 4.5k~5k rpm with no sudden acceleration).
I tried many times with SVC saying about this. EVerytime they say they clean my air filter, carb, spark plugs and all but doesnt work out.
I mean if I ride the bike the way an apache RTR has to be ridden the max mileage I get is 37~38kmpl. Still I dont feel its that insane riding and all.
I have ridden kind of insane riding where my mileage drops to 35kmpl.

Bro, It seems its not a major leak.. May be the packing has got damaged..Change the gasket & the leak will stop. But just in case I'l show these pics to my new mechanic & I'l update you..

Ya bro..I'm not sure what SVC was doing but they completely ripped me off..!!The head was completely scratched, scrapped & broken..The best part was it was misaligned with the cylinder..
Are you serious about 40kmpl..?? After replacing my bike's head & complete chain set I'm getting 44-46 kmpl even after doing 115kmph on IRR & mine is a 180..
Bro, forget TVS SVC,they can't help you..!!Its time you find a independent mechanic & get your bike fixed BUT do purchase all spares from TVS Spares..

Yeah..Thats what I too feel. Everytime I tell about this they tell my route is filled with traffic & they will do everything they can.
Anyway this time I'm running a mileage check by riding as if doing running period.
Lets see how much I get then. If its a small change then Im sure the problem is more into than just cleaning carb & air filter.
Also recently I changed the clutch plates & spark plugs. That too hasnt helped much in the mileage part.
