Thanks, guys!!
Well as i told earlier, the 180 is less flickable than the 160s.In fact, in a corner(in the video in my siggy) where i usually try to rip leaning to the max, the 160 reluctantly falls better into the angle desired but even if the 180 feels slower in response to your reflex it makes up for the stability while cornering. It will carry more corner speeds, thats for sure!!Originally posted by rennycornelius View Post
this is waht i noticed....
you noticed this too????????????????
Thanks, dude and yeah handlebar vibs are very much there. And no the 180 doesnt feel front heavy, may be the wider handlebars would mean stretching and some amount of unnoticed pressure on the shoulders would have made you feel it being heavy...Damn, that was so scientific!! :POriginally posted by Sarvajit View PostNice unbiased review there Chicane. I also felt the same about the handlebars when I rode the bike, but my other friends were telling me it was in my mind!
I also felt the 180 is a bit more front-heavy compared to the 160. Do you feel the same way?

@ chicane: Bro, nice review and very informative. However, I have some queries:
1. You say vibrations start at 4000 rpm. That's right! But, are you sure they are in the entire rev range? The test unit I tested had them from 4000-7000 only...? I took it upto 8000 rpm or so, AFAI remember.
2. I really fail to understand one thing - When Top Speed is not increased by much, Why did TVS Engineers increase wheelbase by such a big figure, 40 mm?
This is totally uncalled for. Stability might improve, but the flickability, cornering and stunts are worse compared to 160.
Not that its bad, its still live-able with. But, not really a necessary step. Wouldn't just a 10-20mm increase be fine?---

Is there a difference between the handle bars of 160 rtr fi and rtr 180?Originally posted by chicane1879 View Post

I am using an FI and as i am a short guy,i need to lean too much. In long trips its causing terrible back aches.
If 180 has longer bars, then i may try the same in my bike too...

The actual wheelbase increase is 26mm and not 40mm.. from 1300 mm of RTR 160 to 1326mm of RTR 180. It is just 1mm longer than CBZ Xtreme(1325mm).Originally posted by Samarth 619 View Post@ chicane: Bro, nice review and very informative. However, I have some queries:

I don't think so,i test ride both bikes both clip-on handle bar is same ImoOriginally posted by hariraman View PostIs there a difference between the handle bars of 160 rtr fi and rtr 180?

may be it might be a longer clip-on due to extended wheel base

now from where this equation came from that longer wheelbase calls for little long 'bars....Originally posted by ACE_HUNTER View Postmay be it might be a longer clip-on due to extended wheel base

i completely disagree....Originally posted by chicane1879 View Post

those mm's not making any diff in the flickability of the bike...
to be honest if TVS would have never mentioned the long swingarm thing (those tiny MM's) nobody could have ever noticed it and FORGET noticing while driving and telling the less flickable thing and all....The Magician"

+1 to both points. most of our 'limitations' are in our heads. i know some racers who tape off their speedos simply because seeing the incredibly high speeds they pull in corners scare them and actually make them go slower than they would otherwise.Originally posted by rennycornelius View Postnow from where this equation came from that longer wheelbase calls for little long 'bars....

longer?! i thought the bar end was pretty damn huge as it is. maybe a solution to reduce handlebar vibes further.Originally posted by kauria View PostThere is no difference in handelbars betwwen 160, Fi & 180 apart from the colour. Another small difference is the barend weights, which is little longer then the old one, elce everything standrad.

Nice one .. specially the last two which interested me the mostOriginally posted by bogusgenius View Postwhen the wrist pain arrived and made the decision for me. But undoubtedly the best bike money can buy this side of 200 cc. But is it really worth the 40k premium that was being asked? and, it begs to be pushed every minute, which can be a little hard to live with.
To be continued... Buying Experience
.. others were almost transparent to me.
Couldn't get the highlighted part? Is it because of riding stance?

The Prowler! Damn, that machine was on my wishlist for a while. I kinda hoped it would be the bike to beat the shogun and rx. Luckily, i never got the opportunity to try it out; they scrapped it before it was even sold in bombay, just sold a few in pune. Please do share something about your prowler ownership, except this thread may not quite be the place to do so. I'm getting all nostalgic now ... petrol at Rs. 25/litre, etc....Originally posted by bogusgenius View PostMoreover had a very bad experience with Bajaj, as a owner of the Bajaj Prowler, if anyone know what I'm talking about.
