U know i thought delphi would have come up with a solid Fi system, i guess i was wrong. The only thing with Fi in general is the service back up. I doubt even by 2012 there will be mechanics in every place of the country ready to service or fix Fi bikes. Right now the only place to get Fi bikes serviced are the dealerships and even those not every center has the tools necessary. That is gonna be the main problem for some time to come.Originally posted by arunmur View PostWe own a house in Hosur so i drive down there every once in a while and that route passes through the TVS factory in hosur.
About the Fi bikes Right now, yeah. But wait for some time when our manufacturers come with FI bikes. They would be much more fiiting into the market requirements than Honda can ever dream fitting their PGMFI system for small scooters.
If you want to know PGMFI on our HH and Honda bikes is a far simpler system as compared to both RTR-FI and the DTS-Fi engines. It just manages to replace the carb in a very costly way. The RTR-Fi and DTS-Fi implements a full blown FI system with most of the sensors minus the perfection of the PGMFi. Like i said its just a matter of time that we start seeing the advantages of the FI on Indian bikes.
Also FI will become more or less a standard by 2012 when our norms get stricter, petrol becomes pricier and running the engine any more leaner will make you feel like you are driving a moped. This applies especially to 100-125 cc bikes

Very true, at the pace at which the FI's are moving we may have a lot of buggy FI bikes by then and no service stations. About the tools poeple will find ways.Originally posted by RedApple View PostU know i thought delphi would have come up with a solid Fi system, i guess i was wrong. ----------------------------------------------------------------------Originally posted by rennycornelius View Postthat's not warm up man....
it takes 1 and a half mins for oil to reach the "head"...
the RTR takes atleast 5kms to warm up....
dont ever REV the hell outta ur engine before warming it up...
drive in the first 3 gears for the first 5kms to make engine reach it's optimun performance temp and dont exceed 5000RPM while doin so...
after that see that tacho goin to 10500 at evryshifts
(power flow stops after that)
ride under 4000RPM till the first serv and under 5000RPM till 1000 kms and short bursts to 6000 are ok till 1000...
the moment you'll see 1000 in ur ODO hit the highway warm up the bike and rev the hell outta it....
now that's simple...
yup w8ing for the 1000km mark.........
and yes 1 more correction dude......

"after that see that tacho goin to 10500 at evryshifts

but dude max power is at 8500rpm......so there is no point in revving the hell out of it till 10500 rpm
........as u will get the same power......above 8500 rpm.......
Correct me if i am wrong...!!!
Peace

yes the Max power is developed at 8500 but the power keeps in flowing after that...Originally posted by M3nac3_guy View Postyup w8ing for the 1000km mark.........

it remains strong till 10000RPM
the torque and the power curve remains flat, and the moment you reach 10500 it starts to fall down...
you can see that magic 12000 mark to but you got to rev it till that point and you'll hear engine scream for mercy..
this 10500 limit works a lot while cornering it in 2 gear.....

and you've got 17.3 ps remember....

Even i am surprised by the RTR's mileage. Can you believe my friend(in bangalore) got a mileage of 56km/ltr!!

Yeah. I was expecting the RTR 180 to give mileage in numbers close to 35-40kmpl and Yours will also go up to 55-60 range after some 3k kms. My F2 used to give me 45 before 3k kms and used to manage a easy 65-70 after about 10k(used to do a lot of touring). But this ones almost got twice the go and still really efficient.
