Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
If you choose halogen, get bulbs without the blue coating on the glass. Bulbs with clear glass are the best for illumination and is best for rain/foggy situations. Colour temperature ratings of 4300k is best.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View Post

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
White light(5500k and above) is absolutely useless for fog and rain. Stick to a bulb which is less than 5000k. A 60/55w is useless, slightly better than a 35w but hopeless against truck's high beam .Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostGuys i'm thinking of replacing the halogen headlamp bulb with white light bulb. Any suggestions? How is PHILIPS BlueVision Moto? Anyone using it?
I'm running a Philips Rally 130/100 (with a relay and full wiring harness). No issue running a high wattage bulb as long as it is in high or low beam(some times it tends to use 230W thanks to TVS switch).
The best setup would be a 85/80 or even 100/90 with a relay and wiring harness. The bulbs I would recommend, Hella Rallye 100/90, Philips Rally 100/90 and Osram All season 85/80.

I'll search for the ones you recommended then!
But then would philips crystal vision be a good choice? Its 35W and the light temperature 4300k.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
If you ride only in city limits the 35W gloworm in a jam jar is fine regardless of the K. Once the street lights vanish, you won't be able to do 60-70 kmph also, confidently.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostThanks a lot buddy!

If you do a lot of highway riding at night, upgrade to a 60/55 at least..
One more option would be to get a Bi-xenon HID 35/35 and deal with a few other glitches of its own. You can check out my ex-35w 3000k HID against a 60/55 (post No. 4738) :- www.xbhp.com/talkies/universal-threads/4803-let-there-light-bike-lighting-hid-etc-474.html
Another option would be, get a LED of 20-35W 6000k and stick on a fog lamp yellow filter on the headlight(may be completely or partially) so as to make the 6000k into a 3000k. I'm not sure if LED H4 have dipped and high beams.

HID would be a direct fit without mods? Mine is not the ABS variant so it doesn't hav DCOriginally posted by vivekgautams View PostIf you ride only in city limits the 35W gloworm in a jam jar is fine regardless of the K. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I have a 6500km old Apache RTR 160. Got the 7th servicing done recently. The mechanic said that I should replace the chain set on next servicing.
As my bike is not that old, is it really possible that the chain set get damaged this early?
He also replaced the air filter and spark plug this time. He said that it should be replaced on 7th service.
After I came home, I checked the manual and it says that spark plug should replaced every 15000km. It is mentioned in the service schedule to inspect and replace it on 6th service/12000-15000km. So was it actually necessary to replace it since its only been 6500kms on odo or spark plugs also need replacement with time just like engine oil?

I read that Remora is developed in collaboration with michelin so i thought it would be a better choice..
I meant i received good feedback about remora from my frnds who ride rtr.

I feel remora is good. Better than crappy srichakras. But not good as michelins. But no tire squels though.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostI'm sorry my bad!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I suppose you do not need to change the spark plug at 6000odd kms. And that chain stuff its not neccesary to get the set changed so early. Usually the are replaced at around 25000+ kms. Get ur chain checked by your local mechanic. I dont think its damaged. How old is your bike ?Originally posted by kdevdatta View PostI have a 6500km old Apache RTR 160.
